Hmm...Both Super Mario 64 and Chrono Trigger are 2-0 against 51-75 and 5-0 against 75+, with Chrono Trigger holding a slight edge there with two of those five being in the 76-100 range to SM64's one. That should even up, though, since SM64 is facing one of CT's former opponents identified as being in the 76-100 range, while I doubt CT's opponent for the week is in the top 100 (I could be wrong, though). Obviously, CT is 6-0 against the top 50 while SM64 is 5-1, but all six of SM64's matches against the top 50 were against the top 25 while only two of CT's were.

I maintain that this is a very close race.

You don't think SMB3 could take out RE4? Because I haven't seen much to indicate that RE4 will be as difficult to knock off as Chrono Trigger.

Wait... (double-checks) ...okay, shows how well I remember big matches. I completely forgot that RE4 vs. SMG1 had the same 7-vote margin as the aforementioned SSBM-SM64, and with fewer votes at that giving it a better percentage.

On the other hand, RBY is still considered in that category, and it got pretty well demolished by SMW last week, so maybe the Mario platformers (well, SMB3/SMW/SM64/SMG1/SMG2) still should be considered to be in the category where they could win in any given week.

Edit: Hmm...usually, even when the results aren't yet posted here, they're up on the spreadsheet pretty promptly (if not occasionally before the match even ends in the case of particularly evident blowouts), but not today. Ah well...they'll be there when I get home, I'm sure.

(On another note, I noticed that his first post only had a few matches, and then later he made another post voting in some of the matches he'd initially abstained. What is the official policy on that? If you abstain a match at the time you initially post, can you go back and vote in that match later, or do you have to do all of your voting at once?)

My general policy on that is "Abstain" is the same thing as a vote, and as such, you can't abstain at one point in the match and then vote on it later on.

I've never really had any issues with it though, so...
