I got the Wingstick, I've loved every iD game I've played so I was pumped to get a free TF2 item when I was prepurchasing no matter what. Unfortunately, I've owned Quake 4 since the day it came out, but the key doesn't register on Steam, so no Original for me. Hopefully they make it craftable.

You can probably send a feedback ticket to get your Original.
And I got my new PC! I'm trying to finish downloading TF2 so I can see all the shinies.

I'm upgrading my RAM from 4GB to 8GB, does anyone think there will be a big TF2 difference? (windows 7) currently I play on almost everything low (except textures) and my FPS dips down to maybe 50 fps once per minute perhaps in a big firefight.

The difference between 8GB and 4GB RAM is literally nothing (like electrically/physically it is completely ignored) unless you are on a 64-bit operating system, in which case the difference is only practically nothing.
Save for a new GPU

I'm sorry for yelling at you guys again. I shouldn't get so worked up over this and it's unfair of me to be shouting at you guys all the time.
I'm just frustrated because I feel like we've been playing for weeks without learning the most basic lesson of TF2, which is to stick together as a team. We get this for the first five minutes of the match or so, where our short-term early game plan is working, but once we get a little bit into the match, I can just feel our attention spans failing really quick - we start to drift away from the original plan and revert to pub mode and nobody sticks together as a team. We get fat and lazy and we let the match get away from us because we think we already have it in hand, or because we've already gotten bored of sticking to a plan the whole way through.
We have to learn this. We absolutely need to learn to work as a cohesive team from the beginning to the end of the match, or I just can't do this anymore.
So this is pretty huge for TF2 and Steam. The new Steam client looks pretty beast too, you can finally add friends to categories so you don't need to hunt through your entire friends list to find one guy whose name keeps changing.

I have to say, even though it's underpowered, I love the kunai. While it's frustrating to get killed in one hit, the boost up to 180 health means you can sometimes get away when a soldier or heavy turns around after you backstab the medic. Plus you have a little more leeway on stab/saps so you can get engies that are in less than ideal positions.
And it doesn't feel like a total crutch like the DR, either.
And while I'm on the subject of spies, The Enforcer is dumb.

It's not dumb, unless you think the Ambassador is also dumb, which is fair
The damage output is less than an Ambassador headshot + bodyshot still, and any other offensive class can outdamage it pretty significantly as well (except maybe a Pyro who doesn't realize he has a secondary). It's only if you're at low health and the Spy suprises you or picks you off that you should really die to it... and I think that should be within the power of the Spy. Not to mention the 0.5 cloak delay is pretty significant (unless you're pro like me).
Still, I use the Revolver now that I have a strange (and Enforcer is b7 in UGC for some reason and that's the only time I play)
Ambassador requires you to actually get a headshot.
Enforcer allows you to two-shot a 125-health class faster than the Ambassador without the need to aim for the head. And the downside doesn't even apply if you're using the Dead Ringer. That's what makes it dumb in my eyes.

Augh, debating whether or not to buy the Original. I always feel terrible spending money on a virtual item, but $2 is low enough that I'm considering it. I mean, on the one hand, I can just wait for it to drop or become common enough to trade for. And maybe they'll add an actual recipe for it, so I can craft it without having to deal with the token bull****.
Of course, I imagine the people in this topic who bought the polycount pack (or any of those other weapon packs) are wondering why the hell I'm making such a big deal over two dollars.

I'm exactly with you Gin, I am torn about buying it too... I really want it, but I'm afraid it will just be a novelty thing and I would rather just use the regular launcher, in which case I wouldn't want to have spent $2 on it

Started learning to map for TF2! It's been feeling stale lately for some reason, but the mapping is fun and exciting so far. Really pumped about it. I was a huge doom mapper like 8 years ago in my youth.
