Avs with the 2nd and 11th picks this year. I hope we get Landeskog!

charmander6000 posted... What's going on in Vancouver is an alternate version of what would have happened if Canada lost to the US in the Olympics.
I never thought about that until now. Within 10 minutes of winning, Dundas Square in Toronto was jam packed with people. I never thought of how it would've gone if it went the other way...
I'd love for the Avs to get Nugent-Hopkins but it seems likely that Edmonton will take him so Landeskog would be my pick as well. The 11th pick will hopefully also be someone great, especially if Murphy falls somehow.

Weird game, Vanc looked like they shot a ton, hit a ton, and did well for a while, but Boston made plays. And ino penalties meant Boston could play their game and use their rotation. A pal texted me that they used the TB game 7 refs. It was a weird experience, we were in the lobby of an upscale puerto rican hotel, which is also a fancy club, so I couldn't hear anything, and tons of upper crust smoking latinas were walking by and a little weirded out by a few people going NUTS for hockey. But so good. Wish I was back home for it but I'm glad I could keep the other guys company. I think I made a friend for life.
Absolutely embarrassed at what a few total yahoos are doing in my city right now.
Excited about the team for next year though. We'll probably lose a little defensive depth (Salo a year older even if he stays, doubt we can keep both the big UFA defensemen) but otherwise this team should be able to stay mostly intact. We were pretty darn close this year (done in ultimately by a combination of poor puck luck and Thomas getting into the players' heads) and I think the experience should help with taking the next step!
I rarely wear my jersey to work but I am definitely doing so tomorrow.

I have to admit, as much as I hated Vancouver in this series, when the camera shifted over to Kesler's manly tears, I certainly felt a pang of sadness and sympathy. For HIM at least. **** Luongo and the Sedins! They need to trade Kesler to a team that I wouldn't be ashamed to root for!

Man I wish I could have been in town for the parade. Going to playoff games is sweet but watching with friends can replace that. No replacement for the parade.
Curious to see if the Savard petition will go through to get his name on the cup.
