Actually gonna try to keep one alive now, haven't seen a topic in a while! >_>
Anyone else reading anything right now? Got sucked back into VN's thanks to Majikoi and just got into Kirakira after a long hiatus. I'm actually pretty surprised I've literally heard nothing about it, it's pretty great. Probably gonna pick up Da Capo or Aoishiro after Curtain Call.
Still haven't finished Episode 7 of Umineko, but eh, I'm in no rush until Episode 8's on the horizon!

I sort of started reading Sharin a while back but have sort of not been doing that lately.
I sort of started reading Muv Luv more recently but have sort of not been doing that either.
I sort of installed Daiteikoku and Kamidori (not really VNs but oh well) and am trying to decided if I want to tackle those via machine translation and wiki help or wait 3 years for someone to translate them.
****, keep forgetting and Sharin and Muv Luv too. Guess I'm gonna be busy this summer.
Daiteikoku looks ****ing sexy and I want it now. Having a widower main character seems like it'd be odd, though. Oh well, I haven't even finished Daibanchou yet.

I've got G-Senjou no Maou and Higurashi Kai on hold because of schoolwork and finals and stuff
Motivation for Higurashi's pretty low because I've seen the anime (And read what's been translated of the manga) already, but the VN is a lot better <.<

Still have CLANNAD, Saya no Uta and G-Senjou no Maou to read
Well, Saya's able to be finished in a day, but the other two will take at least a few days. Especially Clannad oh god it devoured most of my summer
Partial Patch before the end of the month.
There's your horizon.
Wait, episode 8's been released already?!

Exactly my hesitation on Higurashi >_> it just doesn't seem right if there's no riddles to solve since you know all the answers :/ I mean, if it's even half as big the difference between Umineko's adaptation and VN were it's worth a read, but still.
gsen deserves full attention this summer though 10/10 best vn ever

Last Winter Comiket.

Oh no. I'm reading it from the perspective of "I know all the answers let's see how well it was foreshadowed etc" And I've discovered one thing
For reference, I'm part-way through Meakashi. I reckon I'm somewhere between 1/3 and 1/2 of the way but I haven't read it in about a month <_<
>_> I couldn't even imagine starting it without being completely bored. It just seems so long. Hell, I'd be reluctant to start Umineko now if I wasn't so far through it.
Episode 7's a better place to end the series anyway.
<_< well, this seems foreboding, but I'm gonna finish the series anyways eventually!
Btw, started Sharin no Kuni. I feel like I'm getting guilt tripped harder to do the main heroine's arc even harder than Clannad did with Nagisa. >__> jesus, depressing.

Loved it. I didn't like it quite as much as G Senjou at first, but after reading the fandisk and thinking about it, they're definitely on the same level; I'd say on a more objective level, SnK is much better and I'm being overly swayed by my love of Haru. Still, both great VNs.

I can't really say G Senjou is way better. Well, for one, G Senjou has only one heroine I can call good, while I liked all of SnK's heroines (though admittedly none as much as Haru). G Senjou had the more epic plot, but I dunno if I can call that a plus, and it had a lot of plotholes. G-Senjou has better BGM, for sure, but I still liked SnK's. SnK had the better protagonist. Had the better antagonist too.

and no, you can not use my username as a counter-argument
Well, gsen affected me in ways that manly men should not be affected, like even worse than Clannad after story
I have a wang, but I do have the account agesgirl

yeah but I'm completely obsessed with gsen, comparing it to anything will generally not end well
but so far sharin no kuni's pretty damn good!
Also, as for the order he helps the girls, is it like gsen where there's one each chapter?

Mac Arrowny posted... Do Natsumi's route first. It fits much better with the game's story, which seems pretty stupid if you choose one of the other girls.
and G Senjou's way better than Sharin no Kuni overall, though both suffer from the same flaw.
what is this SAME FLAW

(metal gear solid) best ending ever there are polar bears - ZFS
I somehow completely missed Mac's post there. <__<
I see no flaws they share currently! Hell there's even a Gonzou father figure, 10/10 so far.
Already a couple hours into Sachi's, though, it looked like it was the first one I could enter so I went ahead. Probably nearing the end of chapter 2. Maybe.

Like 2/3rds of it was boring and slow. The stuff near the end made up for it some, but it just wasn't enough for me to call it 'good'.
Funny to hear that from you. After all, most of the 'boring and slow' stuff is essential character development.

I know you're making fun of tcaz2 and he deserves it, but the length of Touka's chapter was really unnecessary.
As for Gsen and Sharin sharing flaws...
*LARGE BUT OBVIOUS SPOILERS FOR BOTH GAMES*
Both have MCs who start out as somewhat amoral badasses, but turn into boring goody two shoes in the end. It would've been nice if they'd at least had final chapter alternate bad ends where they stay on the wrong (interesting) path, rather than the generic path they went with.
so sharin no kuni's seperated into 5~ chapters with a chapter devoted to each girl right
so since I chose to enter and completed Sachi's arc and got the option for chapter three out of that... am I supposed to ignore everyone else or am I supposed to be a man whore for the other girls

Why? No matter which girl you choose, the story is practically the same, so you might as well just pick someone and experience the whole thing.

Okay, that's true (Kyouko really got on my nerves a lot that chapter), but I still enjoyed it.
As to the spoiler part, I don't think that holds for SnK at all.
