Pokemon Trainer. It'd be pretty cool to go around the world, collecting badges and becoming a legendary trainer, even if I'm not the one taking down a gang of thugs. It's also a safe world... which is the biggest thing, honestly. Most of these others are dangerous. Though being a Ghostbuster would be fun in part because of the thrill of it, and the danger is low by comparison, so that would be runner-up.

Persona-user sounds awesome until you realize how likely you are to die if you're using a Persona but are not playable. The body counts in Star Wars and Harry Potter are quite high, especially for NPCs.

Starfleet wouldn't be ideal since being on a spaceship would lose its novelty fast, and it would feel more like work than anything. Keyblade Wielder means having to deal with the convoluted mess that is Kingdom Hearts.

I don't know enough about Avatar, Animorphs, and Mistborn to judge.

I'm not. It's the most like being a normal person, except you don't necessarily need to feed them and you can upload them to your PC to grind out MMOs for you while you're at work, then drag them out and feed them sweets or whatever.

Hell, give me a pet Trubbish so I don't have to haul my stuff half a city block away whenever I need to dump out my bins.

This. They're a bunch of child soldiers forced into a gruesome interstellar war. Even as early as the first book when they're like 13 there's disembowelments and due to the morphing technology healing you when you morph they go through some monstrous injuries.

The series basically ends with "Commit war crimes to put more time on the clock!" as a delaying action for the (mostly) good aliens to show up and help.

I could go on and on about the insane stuff that happens in the series.

I feel like some of these dont even make sense as background character tier.

like if you have a keyblade youre inherently a big deal, right? I dont remember seeing people hanging out in the background with key blades.

And considering there aren't many Sith around, it would be kind of hard to be a background character Sith.

I don't think there are any background Animorphs either unless you're like an Andalite before they get wiped out (Do they get wiped out?) and then you're also a whole different species on other planets or out in space.

Depends on how much power Id have as a background tier character. Like it wouldnt be worth picking wizard if that meant you were a loser with spells so basic they were on the same level as amateur stage magic or something.

Technically there's the Auxiliary Animorphs that get recruited during the final arc, but being one of them would just suck on so many levels.

Even background tier, you'd have some really great spells. Transfiguration, charms, etc.. You could also learn new spells. At the very least you could apparate. That alone would make it worth it. Plus there's potions.
