I am convinced before KH II Nomura went to his team and said

I want everyone to write down 3 suggestions of what a Keyblade can do.

And then instead of just taking the best he decided over the next 6 games he would implement every last one of them no matter how absurd.

Id like my Keyblade to be a frying pan Done.
It would be cool if my Keyblade could be a bow and arrow unit. You got it.
Id like my Keyblade to control time Sounds swell.
I want my Keyblade to be the biggest cannon in the history of the world Perfect.
Id like to fly, Id like to have a space cruiser, Id like mine to split in 2, Id like mine to become other weapons we previously had, Id like mine to wake up dead planets, Id like mine to lock peoples souls.

And so many more.

Even though its been like 20 years and Ive played Kingdom Hearts wayyyy more recently than Ive read 8-bit Theater, Keyblades always remind me of the part in 8-Bit Theater where Fighter says swords are like keys that you stick in people to unlock their deaths.

what do you mean would they be?

If you mean what they are, most of the NPCs in Union X and Dark Road would fall under that.
