From last night, it looks like the league is going to be very forgiving about catches, and possibly arbitrary about helmet hits and QB hits. I think there are gonna be some terrible calls in big games with that helmet rule.

As long as Rodgers stays healthy, Green Bay should be an auto-playoff team, but they often play the role of lurkers while some other NFC team rises up to take the crown.

Of course, it's anyone's guess who wins the NFC this year given it's amazing varied history of champions over the last decade and a half.

defensive improvements, we finally fired Dom Capers, and Pettine has done well as a defensive coordinator in the past. a couple of running backs in their second year that were doing pretty alright with Brett Hundley throwing the ball, so with Rodgers back they can hopefully run well if they stay healthy

and a healthy Rodgers

Well, GB has a new defensive coordinator this year as well as several other coaching staff changes. They finally found an excuse to clean house after finally missing the playoffs last year due to Rodgers injury.

So this new defense may be a difference maker for them. Maybe not. Also, GB has not made TE play a dynamic part of their offense for many years. Could Jimmy Graham change that?

Ultimately, they should make the playoffs again, as long as Rodgers stays healthy, but will they make that leap to the Super Bowl finally? As I said, predicting the NFC representative for the SB has been a crap shoot for the past two decades almost. Nothing like the elitism that goes on in the AFC.
