The end thing is not so great, but I guess that's what happens when they just take all the songs from the level and mush them together into one <_<. OTOH, AA is one of my favorites in the contest and I was always disappointed it never got enough support to get in before. Light of Nibel - Something about the progression of LoN actually kinda reminds me of Resurrections. It's good stuff. Endymion's fun too. What a good day! Preserved Valkyria - who's the cheater who nommed a retired song for the side bracket? I&E's first two minutes are terrible, but despite liking PV very much, I'd probably vote for the song anyway if they didn't exist. Sceptilesolar 04/06/18 11:05:54 PM #3:	The Azure Arbitrator Light of Nibel Preserved Valkyria Hm, well, Azure Arbitrator is not quite what I was expecting. I don't really love it, I guess. It's no Merciless Savior... or Mighty Power... or EOV... Well, it's among strong company. Its opponent isn't too bad. It takes absolutely ages to get going, but Azure Arbitrator is not exactly fastpaced either. I actually think Resurrections might have the better high, but Azure Arbitrator does a better job keeping my attention overall. I remember Light of Nibel, it's nice. ENDYMION is very interesting. I like both of these. I think Light of Nibel is more enjoyable to me but ENDYMION has some cool parts that I wish made up more of the song. I guess Preserved Valkyria must also have been in a past contest? Sometimes I can't keep track of these rhythm game songs. This one is very good though, some parts remind me of soundtracks I really like. Most of the song is boring, and while the last 3-4 minutes are more ambitious, something about the melody bothers me there. (specifically the way the pitch on some notes tends to bend, such as at 7:35) Light of Nibel has always been a favorite in mine. In fact, whenever this was first nominated for the contest it actually got me to buy Ori and the Blind Forest. I tried to play through it, but my laptop couldn't actually handle the graphics even on the lowest setting...pretty fun game though. In other news, it's impressive how many of my pet peeves ENDYMION managed to hit. It's not quite my least favorite from the contest, but that's not for lack of trying. Preserved Valkyria is a pretty cool song. The melody is more frantic than I typically like, but for some reason I think this one works well. Ok I didn't really like the beginning of Innocence and Emptiness (I am not a music box fan), but after 2 minutes or so it turns into a really great, tense song. It also keeps things fresh enough that it never really lets up for the remainder of the time. Take note songs from the first match, this is how you make long songs not boring. Advokaiser 04/07/18 4:10:46 PM #30:	The Azure Arbitrator Light of Nibel Preserved Valkyria Decent-to-great day. -First match: There's something weird about rock songs with a sort of frenetic-but-controlled style to it (specially Falcom ones) that really makes me dig them more and more... But this one is a turn-off every time the organ and the out-of-tune chants come in. Still, it's powerful enough to beat Resurrections.
