Knowledge does probably require the most points, but that's not what I meant when I said I thought Guts was the hardest/longest to level up.

Provided you realize a few things about various stat boosting activities, Knowledge practically takes care of itself in the process of working on the other stats.

Did you guys actually have trouble with the 2nd Palace fight? I found it to be one of the easiest if not the easiest honestly. Maybe it's different on not-normal difficulty, but for me I could just spam AoE physical attacks and it basically made the entire multi-enemy phase of that fight to be trivial. (There was one that was immune to physical if I recall, but I mean that one was pretty easy to finish off once the rest were dead).

Whew, bus trip finally almost over. Ahem, sort of. I've still got another few states to go the day after tomorrow.

Second Palace boss almost beat me, Leon. I was surprised, in a good way, by how tough it was. Definitely more clever than I'd anticipated.

Yeah, you can use AoE attacks, but half of them are immune to physical attacks and the other half are immune to spells, so you can only deal with one half at a time. I only had AoE magic spells at the time anyway. It makes it more annoying when it revives later in the fight because you can basically heal them all the way back to full health if you use AoE since they only start with a fragment of their health. Plus, one of them constantly debuffs you or does that stupid paint attack that makes you vulnerable to everything. Then one of them can revive defeated parts if you're not fast enough. It takes a lot of management to keep yourself from getting overwhelmed because they work together really well to beat you down.

I don't know if you're not supposed to be able to beat him at this point but I literally got the main Shadow down to a sliver of health and then he revived the painting again so I had to fight it for the third time before I killed him.

I suppose it helps that AoE Physical is basically the way I approached every fight anyways, so my strongest Persona was also already the one which had Auto-Tarukaja and whatever the strongest AoE physical skill I had access to at that point was.

Luck may have been a factor also? I remember one rotation of the fight went notably worse than the other two, so it might be that I just got lucky those other two times. I also seem to remember doing something wrong with that rotation (not having buffs up or something) though, so I don't really know.

Yeah, I think Ryuji learned Rampage as a result of that fight, and it would've been helpful to have it during the fight!

School field trip time in Persona 5! Met the new Detective Prince, Akechi. He's carrying around a briefcase with the Avengers logo on it, and I'm absolutely convinced now he's the dude in the black mask. At the very least, he already has a Persona because he heard something Morgana said. Nobody else seems to have picked up on that though.

Also, how do these hangout spots work? Are they just for building affinity for Confidants? Doesn't seem like you can just go there whenever you want for the heck of it.

Oh hey, just got Akechi as the Justice Arcana Confidant. That's interesting.

In more Persona 5 news, the party at the cafe was a lot of fun. It was cool getting to see Sojiro interact with the rest of the cast. He's slowly warming up to them and I'm slowly warming up to him. Looks like I lose a roommate in real life and gain a roommate in the game, huh? Should be interesting having Yusuke around!

Seems like Makoto is slowly having a change of heart of her own, too.

Essentially, yeah. You get a small scene with a dialogue option or two and can build more affinity than just passing time.

Although 5000 yen per visit, huh? This better be a good one! She's the Temperance Arcana, huh? Thought for sure she'd end up being the Devil one. Temperance doesn't have a good track record though, so time to buck the trend!

Finally initiated Yusuke's Confidant thing. He's the Emperor as I expected, but what I didn't expect was him literally going into Mementos to do some painting. This dude's pretty great.

I have no idea which of these is kawakami since I never played the game

futaba - I guess most of the cast is in high school but she's the only one who looks like a middle schooler to me. aside from that the bangs above the eyebrows actually do look pretty weird. not sure if that came across earlier or if it seemed like I was being facetious. her face looks kind of sleepy and dull to me as well. would almost certainly look better with not literally orange hair. I voted for her so I'm perfectly fine with her placement at the bottom.

ichiko - I mean honestly I think she's a little more attractive than some of the other ones left. but yeah I wouldn't complain about her being eliminated either. also she has a serious case of stick body. whenever I see people walking around in jeans in real life with legs that skinny I always seriously wonder if they are bulemic.

haru; I legitimately have no idea what this design is supposed to even be

chihaya: I didn't vote for her but I gave it strong consideration. she's basically tied with a bunch of people for the bottom

sadayo; pretty much the only one that looks like a normal person. also doesn't look like a high schooler. is she a teacher or something? either way she is one of the only two that I actually find attractive of this batch although she is not my favorite. still pretty good. despite persona 5 tube body syndrome she still somehow manages to have hips. putting that into consideration I assume if she was redrawn with hentai art she would be THICK.

ann; she eerily looks almost exactly like a girl that I knew in real life when I was a teenager. the same kind of blue eyes that look slightly mean, same hair that was like somehow big and wavy despite being blonde and it just didn't look right. she even had a sort of similar nose although with anime characters you can barely see the nose or tell what type it's supposed to be. anyway I don't find this design very attractive. this is hurt even more by her outfit being a total disaster.

addition to sadayo; forgot to mention that she has the best shoes of the bunch. no idea how I forgot to include this in my write up when it was one of the things I was most excited to write about...

makoto; no thanks

hifumi; this result is legitimately surprising to me. she's the only character on the list that I would actually describe as attractive just based on the pictures shown, and my natural assumption was that she would win easily. does she have like a terrible personality in the game or something?

sae - one of the other characters I'd say at least looks normal but I'm very, very surprised that she won this. looks quite plain to me and I wouldn't imagine her to fit into this boards tastes at all. I guess this is another case where she probably has some kind of hot fetish outfit or personality in the game that zea chose not to showcase here

tae - lmao reminds me of the hacker from NCIS. that is actually probably the best case scenario. the idea of combining a really, really tame version of punk rock with a professional environment is just so unrealistic and jarring that it doesn't even work in an anime. also her neck is way too long. like really, really long. ART

Yeah, hangout spots as mentioned are basically just ways you can gain more points than a normal "just spend time." I'll add though that taking certain people to certain spots will net you a gift from that person. It's just cosmetic stuff though.

I dunno. The internet went out for a little while yesterday, and all that happened to me was an unconscionable amount of load time after a transition because it was trying to send info to the Thieves Guild thing unsuccessfully.

Although the game decided to be incredibly stupid and I actually almost lost her opening fight! Makoto missed the one enemy weak to Nuclear, who used Mabufu and for some dumb reason the game kept Ann in instead of Ryuji, and she's weak to it, so the enemy got another attack and nearly killed everyone.

Palace time! Now I've gotta figure out a good configuration. I'm glad P5 changed it so that even the party members who are inactive still get some EXP (and I got Mishima's ability that increases EXP for active and inactive party members).

Hmmm...Might roll with Joker/Makoto/Ryuji/Yusuke for now and just use Ann and Morgana's SP to heal when needed. It's also nice they changed it so you can use backup party members' abilities in the menu. We'll see how it goes!

This Palace has definitely been tougher than the previous two, but it feels like I've gotten unlucky at times, too. Eventually had to switch out Yusuke because it felt like every friggin' enemy here has Maragi.
