And wow, things just took a turn for the serious. The principal seemed to be struck by a psychotic breakdown and then got ran over in the middle of the street. That director dude was clearly behind it, as well as the dude he was talking to on the phone, whoever it was. Feels like it's about to get real!

Well, I do like the fact that there was some legitimate tension in the group. It's one of the things I appreciate most about P3's cast. They largely didn't get along at the start but grew into a team over time. The Investigation Team are all instant friends for life, but in the context of Persona 4, it makes sense. Before they save you, they see the very worst side of you and accept you anyway. That's a very powerful thing. It breeds an inherent openness and trust between them all because they all share a common life-changing experience.

now they could stand to be executing this whole thing better but there's still time to turn it around I guess

All right, it's Palace time...tomorrow. But I did manage to max out several Confidants: Kawakami, Ann, Ryuji, Takemi, and Mishima. Having Kawakami come and make stuff for you for free every evening now is a pretty sweet deal, gotta say.

Aesthetically, it's definitely parroting some of the Abrams movie flair far more than what we got with the previous shows. But I think they're committed to making this thought-provoking and full of commentary, too. And with some good characters, I think, but I don't find the new movies lacking in that department anyway. Format-wise, it's gonna be DS9 on overdrive -- modern TV sensibility of an ongoing story from episode to episode. I would like to see a few standalones pop up from time to time, though. Star Trek has always had numerous fantastic one-offs.

At the very least, it doesn't work on Hanged Man's Proficiency gains. I know I tested that for sure. I obviously can't speak for every activity in the game, but yeah. (I probably tested Knowledge at the Diner on a non-rainy day but I can't recall for sure.)

I know what you're saying is correct about the GOAT Rank 7 bonus. But I also know that I 100% confirmed that you can pick, say, Knowledge for the Rank 1 bonus and then immediately turn around and pay again to change it to Charm. (The change is reflected if you go to the S. Link part of the menu and select Fortune you see that the bonus is now Charm.) I remember performing that test and figuring that the game wouldn't be so prepared as to note that my test change was allowed because I hadn't done anything to trigger the bonus (since I literally just immediately talked to her again to change it) whereas it would have shut me down if I had tried something.

Gonna be perfectly honest and say it's probably more likely than not that I did change it mid-day as I described at some point but I just can't recall for sure because it would have been in the course of "normal" play and not something I went out of my way to experiment with/test. There's just too many opportunities there where I feel I probably would have done that and I'd have remembered if the game stopped me. But again, can't be sure.

And of course you can stack the different Rank bonuses and use the Rank 1, 3, and say 7 bonuses all on the same day with no issue provided you pay for them all.

Hanged Man is one of the best links in the game IMO. From a gameplay perspective Death Rank 7 is really great because it cuts the prices in half and by that point an earlier rank (5?) lets you buy accessories that give you innate Invigorate which allow you to mostly trivialize SP management for the rest of the game.

All right, watched the last Attack on Titan episode for season 2. That was...something else. So Eren has discovered the ability to control titans? Should be interesting to see how season 3 builds on that. Now there's some bearded dude riding on the back of the giant ape titan, whom I've speculated might be Eren's father. Maybe Armin's father based on the fact that he's blond or something. Or am I supposed to have remembered seeing him before and I should know who that is? I dunno. Like I've said before, this show has too many characters for me to keep straight sometimes.

"I will always wrap your scarf, forever," almost made up for the fact that Eren was completely oblivious to the fact that Mikasa was moving in for the kiss. Or maybe he was aware and he just jilted her. These shounen heroes, I tell ya.

But I've gotta admit: While season 2 had some pretty great moments, it honestly felt like a bit of a letdown overall. It just...felt like not much happened, or perhaps it'd be better to say that virtually nothing got resolved. They introduced a crapton of plot threads and left all of them dangling. Plus, the Ymir stuff just didn't do anything for me, despite how much I like Christa/Historia, as I've said before. Too much Ymir and not enough Mikasa or Levi. It just doesn't feel like we made any real progress toward the endgame in season 2, except for the revelation of Eren's new power during the last episode. The payoff for this show better be worth the snail's pace they're traveling at.

Chris Evans is quitting acting once his contract for the MCU is done (mostly likely after one of the next two Avengers movies). He's wanted to quit for a while and focus on directing, actually.

Have you watched the Levi OVAs, Leon? They're pretty good. Called "No Regrets". 2/3 of the other three OVA collection are great too.

I think liking Ymir goes a long way for it, yeah. I kinda don't, either. Season 2 has been pretty thoroughly well-received, with some folks I've seen going so far as to say it's "crazy how much of an improvement it was on Season 1". I don't get it. Decent season, but the back half brought it down a few notches.

Yeah, season 1 was way better than season 2, in my opinion. I'll give season 2 credit for somehow figuring out that the way to make Eren bearable was to make him so ridiculously over the top that you can't help but laugh at him. Most of the best characters stayed out of focus though, and a few of the good ones (like Jean) barely got any focus at all.

season 2 is pretty interesting in that SO MUCH major stuff happens almost back to back and yet the way it is presented can really leave the viewer feeling a bit fatigued, like somehow nothing of importance happened either. I don't fully agree with what Leon or Jeff are saying but I can certainly understand it.

for the record, as someone who went ahead and started reading after this season ended, I can say that the next two major arcs are the best so far by a long shot. so as long as the anime continues it's only going to continue to get more and more insanely awesome.

I mean yeah important stuff happened but none of it ultimately leads anywhere (or even gives you an indication of where it IS leading like the whole THE WALLS ARE TITANS (which gets completely dropped after a couple of episodes) and Titans were just people all along things) so please come back in season 3 I guess

like I said they introduced a buttload of plot threads but not a one of them was resolved by the end of the season so it doesn't feel like any real progress was made

it's like I kept waiting for some big answers but I didn't get any so I didn't really feel satisfied or fulfilled by it

perhaps they were a bit ambitious considering how short the season was because they didn't really have time to have a big payoff to anything, and it felt like every arc got interrupted by the next arc before it got the chance to finish

they didn't do a darn thing with Eren's key except show it off during the OP

Eh, I think it varies a bit. I think this is on the low end and occasionally it builds back up to where topics wouldn't last that long.

I'm on the "S2 is a vast improvement over S1" AoT boat, but I had a much lower opinion of S1 than either of you, and felt only the Female Titan arc was really good.

Well, season 1 dragged for stretches, too, but it made up for it with the character building and the world building. In season 2, it felt like only five characters mattered out of this huge cast. It was nice to see Sasha get a spotlight episode, but it wasn't nice to see her get thoroughly ignored after it was over!

I'd say S2 gave decent screentime to a bit more than that: Eren, Mikasa, Armin, Historia, Ymir, Reiner, Bertholdt, Erwin, maybe Hange. Then you had the Sasha episode and Connie had a bit of focus but I don't really count that.

I think it's a product of the shortened episode count. Too many characters to give adequate screentime to all of them with just 12 episodes and also advance the plot.

Eh, Mikasa, Armin, and Erwin had some great individual moments in season 2, but they were still largely reduced from their season 1 roles. I don't agree Hange was a big deal at all. I don't recall anything notable she did.
