Also I'll second the notion that Piccolo is the cool uncle. He's akin to a father who works all the time and never has time with his kids. Even when he is with his kids it's always about work. Spoilers first he gave his life to save his son from Raditz, but then had to train with a kai to save the earth from vegeta. Then was badly hurt doing that so Gohan had to go get new dragon balls to revive others, but once he was better he rushed to help his son, and had to fight Frieza, and stalled Frieza long enough for them to get away. This got him stuck on an exploding planet, but he found away off only to end up on a planet of telporters so he took the opportunity to learn such a useful skill, and master his new ssj powers. Once he came back he found out about the androids so he and piccolo trained Gohan together, then Cell happened and they spent a few months training even more together, then he died again. ~~So other than yardrat or however it is spelled and after a Cell he spent a bunch of time with his son, and gave his life multiple times for them.~~ Maybe not the greatest dad, but honestly I can think of worse. --- Water+Fall=Radiation. <cite>Mistere_Man posted [p:979988694] in Man, some ... And for the record, unlike a lot of superheroes, Goku barely does any actual bad guy fighting. He only fights the main baddie of the arc and that's it. He doesn't go around stopping burglars or the like every day. If we're talking solely Z, Goku never takes any opportunity to actually know his son when he has a chance to. In the entire year and additional week they spent together in the Cell Saga prepping for the Cell Games, Goku learned next to nothing about his son, and when he had a clear chance to make amends (be resurrected by the Dragon Balls after his second death), he skips it and nopes out of his son's life for several years. --- "Oh hey look, it's Vegeta, the son of Trunks." In truth his biggest error was during the cell games which he had Gohan take over after giving cell a setzu bean. he saw an answer, but didnt take account Gohans mentality. Likewise him sparing vegeta and Freeza I dont see issue with as it is consistent with his character. He never made a point to kill someone, thinking back to dragonball, I believe king piccolo was his only kill (and only when pushed into a deep corner did he do that), and he spared piccolo. He didnt kill Nappa, the ginyu force. Kid Buu I believe was his first time where he admited he have to kill (hope you recarnate as someone good) edit: I forgot king piccolos kids traborine and drum. First one was revenge for krillin, 2nd was drum to save tien. I dont recall if he killed any red ribbon army members --- I'm a ? Block.
