Jeez, gen 1 slipping today.

Fun fact: My +3 is the only thing keeping Enamorus from going under -80, lol. Me and Luster are the only ones who gave her a + oh no (yes, it is actually my favorite Pokemon in that division)

Didn't quite have the most ballots though, 33 out of 40. But I'm pretty confident it has the most -3s yet - 22 of 40 ballots gave it a -3!

I like Vivillon solely for its gimmick, it is a great gimmick.

Vivillon's gimmick sucks, it's not fun to collect a billion different patterns. That aside I think poor man's Butterfree is well put. In fact I reacted something like this too.

Vivillion looks nice and the gimmick is whatever. New Pokemon Snap having a unique gimmick Vivillion for each stage was a really clever use of its gimmick.

Yeah I get that. I probably would choose Enamorus people it's really low, even if we know it's hated.

I'm surprised Enamorus didn't break a new low record tbh so it did well by my expectations!

As a Vivillon +3er I am surprised it won the division.

I blame this on the fact that probably less people have played Gen 8 than Gen 6. Less people familar with Falinks and Sirfetch'd puts them at a disadvantage against Vivillon.

Hopefully once Round 1 is over with, we'll get information on the number of eliminations for each generation.

i personally prefer Vivillon to Butterfree. The design is the cutest butterfly Pokmon has created, and it benefits from standing out in an otherwise slim roster for Gen VI.

the only gen I ever skipped is Gen 8, it looked like ass on release. I got gen 9 but despite looking like 10% better it probably ran way worse.

it has the hottest gym leaders though so points for that. When are we doing Gym Leader/Rival of the year?

We could skip the formalities and give rival of the year to Blue

Silver and N are better rivals than Blue.

amnesia is comparatively a dud. i don't hate these pokemon, but a decent amount of the ones i gave the plus or skipped on voting coast by on like nostalgia or whatever. scolipede is the only one i rly love

i'd have actively assumed the opposite tbh

Sword/Shield sold nearly 10 million more copies than X/Y, but I don't know that that necessarily translates to more people on B8 playing them. We're old fogeys here.

Giratina's win feels a little bit too expected to me, but Sigilyph's performance is impressive, especially for a fairly abstract and not frequently used mon.

Dud of the Day: Scolipede
I really thought Scolipede would do a lot better than 5th in a division? Kind of a flat performance for something I thought would be semi-strong.

Fun fact: I'm pretty confident that -22 is the highest bottom score yet. Also, congrats to the future paradox mons for both surviving somehow! I think Iron Valiant might be the first one with a positive score.

Hey, finally gen 9 getting some decent results! Kingambit and Tatsugiri repping gen 9 well by taking two second-place spots. And hey, even Iron Boulder and Glimmet avoided elimination. Gen 9 has definitely been taking it on the chin this contest so this was a pretty good result for it.

Eh, I prefer Uxie. They're all pretty generic sprite things but Uxie at least has character, whereas Azelf is just a spoonfull of who gives a fuck and Mesprit is actively stupid looking
