I Know What You Did Last Summer series beated - movies & the 1-season show

movie 1 is a decent flick, feels original for the time, creepy, oh hey jennifer love hewitt & sarah michelle gellar... and freddie prince jr wait did they just get a lot of people known by 3 names because the movie has a long title. the latter though was weirdly shafted and thinking back I still don't even really understand what he was doing

movie 2 was immediately stupid like everything about the plot was ridiculous and made me feel oh wow they really shouldn't have tried continuing The Fisherman - but it's not entirely unenjoyable. just accept the stupidity and it's an alright slasher, definitely upped the gore from the first. the twist is reallllly ridiculous but yeah that's the whole movie and it's kind of fun how dumb it is

movie 3 what the fuck, it's like a complete hack recreation of the first but done absolutely terribly and it feels so generic and bad. replace the first movie's summer incident with...... scaring a guy to skateboard off a building and die lmfao I was literally laughing when he went off the building and somehow nobody understands that meant he just died until a few minutes later. also I'm not one to care about technical aspects of the film but wtf why does this movie up the blue tint and film grain throughout the entire film and it makes it look like every scene is a flashback or something. ending also makes the 2nd look smart, they do the thing with the obvious red herring guy (kind of do it twice but first with someone that really never left an impression anyways and second with the traditional "oh they want me to suspect him" guy).... but then the real killer is revealed and HOLY SHIT how did they just completely jump the shark for this???

TV series is pretty cool. Feels like your pretty typical Scream-inspired high school murder mystery like the original was anyways, like Scream and uh Riverdale I guess, but with the I Know What You Did Last Summer gimmick of the protagonist (and friends) doing something shitty... and now with a bit more of the twist of the protagonist doing just a bit more. I cools off towards the end with a pretty cliched penultimate before coming to the finale that throws everything at the wall - and it kind of goes so crazy that I start off thinking this is really stupid but as it finally concludes.... wait a second this is kind of really perfect. There's still a whole lot that doesn't really make any sense and oh wow they REALLY made everyone look insane but I kind of love this ending. I know it was cancelled for a s2 but I'm curious how it would've panned out... because it definitely sets up for another "I Know What You Did Last Summer" threat but then how the fuck do the remaining characters go threw with it again?? Scream TV season 2 kind of had this with a primary character having a massive reveal at the end of s1 but then s2 kind of downplays it a lot which this show absolutely couldn't brush off.

anyways just finding out there was a s5 of Slasher this year guess I gotta watch that

I watched guardians of the galaxy 3 yesterday... I think it might be the best movie of the three, but I definitely have mixed feelings about it. the great parts were indeed great. rocket's backstory was just kinda unpleasant to watch, I think it went too far in a direction that I wasn't personally satisfied with seeing.

like, you can make the argument that having a more tragic, deep backstory makes for a better narrative or a better character. but I also can't deny the fact that watching animals in cages being tortured and watching cute talking animal characters being gunned down is just not something that I wanted to see for any reason. so yeah I dunno. it's a good movie that is unpleasant to watch at times, if that makes sense.

I believe GotG3's my favourite too, although it really helps that I think it ends on an unexpectedly very happy note, in spite of how dark it went - and that darkness itself you kind of immediately know is coming as soon as you meet the animal friends so you're sort of prepared for it just wew not to the degree. And staying on the bit of expectations I think for years now everyone's been saying oh they're definitely gonna kill someone off (Drax) since this is the end, but instead nah the movie ends with the crew really just moving on, happy, developed, and going on their own paths.

So yeah ultimate I think it's a great culmination of all the Guardians and it does a lot to make up for the unpleasant. Although definitely felt the long lack of Rocket around.

High Evolutionary was also very well-acted - although uh Adam Warlock is uh something. I don't know if I have a problem with the character but it definitely felt like he was only in it because oh yeah we ended the last movie mentioning him.

I have started playing TemTem. These monster designs are mostly mediocre, but the game is still fun enough. It's basically like a continuation of DS-era Pokemon, with some actual difficulty. It's not all great, though. Like it feels like there's some rubberbanding going on, because no matter how much you outlevel the opponents, they still tend to do a lot of damage and withstand more hits than it seems like they should. This tends to mean your team gets beat up really easily, and routes/dungeons have so far been pretty long with a lot of mandatory trainer fights. And that means needing to backtrack to heal up multiple times or consume a ton of items... and money's not really that forthcoming.

the pokemon clone I've been playing is Nexomon, I got the game when it was one sale recently. definitely worth the 'on sale' price, especially if you're into gen 3-4 era of Pokemon. feels VERY familiar to those games.

also just playing pokemon, since it's the main game I stream now...

I hit the Pierce Brosnan era bond films with oh hey it's Goldeneye already!

I can't tell how much of my enjoyment was my nostalgia for the game, but it definitely kept my attention more than any bond film yet and a lot of that was to do with how much I appreciated recognizing everything, having played the game again earlier this year

Straight away introducing Xenia in a fun car chase before blitzing through Dam, Facility, and Runway, then clearly recognizing Surface & Bunker though they aren't actual on-site missions in the film - Silo & Frigate in between the two Surface/Bunker stages are MIA but then we're back on track for Archives with the tank scene more or less covering both Streets & Depot til you get to the Train which retains the same face-off for Natalia. Not much left to go but of course we have the Jungle showdown with Xenia which is pretty cool, the Control facility remains recognizable (loving the same staircase down to the main computers floor), then one more missing stage in Caverns as we skip straight on to the Cradle finale.

Apparently Aztec is from Moonraker, which I thought was enjoyable enough but I can't for the life of me recognize such a setting in it. When I think Moonraker I think the boat driving up on land, infiltrating the bio lab, Jaws chewing through the cable car, and of course the ending in space.

Egyptian is from The Spy Who Loved Me?... i tried watching it repeatedly because I liked some elements in that movie, the bond girl was more interesting than usual, but ultimately I can only remember skiing, and again facing off with Jaws (magnet lol). No memory of such a scene as the N64 stage whoop.

I think I've run out of patience with TemTem. I just evolved a little guy into a really cool looking beetle, and then I saw that it's ability changed to shitty ass thing where it automatically loses half its HP when sent out to battle in exchange for some stat boosts. Fuck that. That was the last straw. This game is just not fun enough to counter all these frustrating things about it.

A CRPG series based on Dungeons and Dragons. It's having its big mainstream moment right now. Pre-release started getting more buzz after they showed off romance options, and one scene was a male druid accidentally turning into a bear during sexy time, which went viral.

I very briefly played either 1 or 2 when I was a teenager, but dropped it after I stole something and guards came to kill me.

Yeah I never got into CRPGs either. BG3 in particular is basically real-time exploration like other WRPGs like Witcher or Elder Scrolls, but then when battle starts, it turns into more of a SRPG. But the whole thing is from the isometric perspective (you can zoom in to almost a third-person perspective, but you're ultimately limited in which ways you can move the camera).

I feel like bond fans would not like this but I can't say most these movies could hold my attention

I know Die Another Day is hated but like that's the line where I can really remember a significant amount of the movie (although it's also the only movie I remember seeing before)

Skyfall was a bit disappointing after all the hype, I think it started really well with the assassination in Shanghai, villain was decent and reminded me a lot of GoldenEye, but then uh the end is so silly I ended up thinking "... really?", like when their position is given away by the flashlight

Casino Royale was a reallllly good opening for Daniel Craig although I felt it still dropped the ball I was really excited for the rest of his movies but that was actually the height. Though of course Brosnan never gets to the height of GoldenEye either but that was A+

I remember hitting Bond reboots and wondering if we'd ever get a return to the goofier characters like Jaws & Oddjob but awh nope. Obviously it doesn't fit for the Craig movies but I would've died. Then again, modern Blofeld sucked.
