Francine is the wife of Stan Smith and the mother of Hayley and Steve. She is a stereotypical trophy housewife who generally seems to enjoy her position in life.

Aside from American Dad just not being very good, the 'wife' characters in animated sitcoms tend to suffer from being the designated killjoy. It's necessary for plot and conflict, but it doesn't make them particularly likable. The only one I can think of that avoided this was Leela from Futurama (although she's not a wife), because while she's usually the voice of reason, she's also as crazy as everyone else.

Yes, she's fun and the best/hottest of the animated sitcom wives

? I don't think Francine falls into this trope at all?

Maybe that changes later, but from the first season I watched she definitely felt like that archetype.
