Never wore one and never will, because no one with common sense was wearing one anyway. They are ineffective.

Would love a permanent normalization of mask-wearing

Covid is spread through aerosol and stagnant air, which none of those masks prevent. Masks only stop droplets, which isn't really what was getting you sick anyway. This is known.

In fact, this was well known information long before idiots on social media made them political.

As some of you know, I work for Princeton. Us, Yale, and Johns Hopkins have the ear of the CDC and helped shape a bunch of these policies people listened to. Pfizer partnered with us to help make the first round of shots. The second nurses won a 10 million dollar settlement yesterday for getting fired falsely for refusing vaccines (and I mean literally to the second, so Princeton had advance notice this judgment was coming), the university sent out an email dropping all covid rules, apologizing for putting them in place, and admitting none of it ever worked to begin with. To the second. On the dot. No more testing, no more masks, no boosters required for students or employees or visitors, nothing. It's like we're back in 2019. If this stuff worked, they wouldn't have dropped any of the rules. But they know it doesn't matter and like clockwork, everyone is all dropping their rules to avoid getting sued, though I doubt it will work. A lot more is coming, and most will win. And for the record, I don't agree with people refusing the shots. But everything else? Totally pointless and never should have been in place to begin with. Johns Hopkins even did an independent study around February showing as much.

The only thing that actually did anything of note was the first round of shots we all took. That was legit. Nothing else mattered. I have it in writing from THREE ivy league universities that collaborated together, one of which houses a lab partnered with Pfizer directly that I worked with personally. If you can't accept that, it's on you. Masks always have been and still are nothing more than a political statement, and all you're really doing is restricting your own breathing with them.

I don't remember the last time I wore a mask. They're a pointless waste and they really don't help stop the spread at all. Even if everybody had the right kind of mask (and cloth masks were most certainly not correct by any stretch of the imagination) most wouldn't wear them right and the rest would end up fussing with them throughout the day to the point it doesn't matter. It was total absurdity, 100% security theater and 0% actual security.
