I expected to feel the same way about Grogu but that character actually feels like it adds a bit more than just being cute. (and is better at it than BB) I don't really dislike him, like at some level it succeeds in being cute and in a movie that wasn't Star Wars I probably would like him, but I can't say I like him. --- No problem! However I think it would have been better if they just used R2 again as the main droid. Grogu has storyline relevance and his cuteness (he needs to be a baby for the plot to work, babies are cute) and Yodaness (random alien baby wouldn't have you wondering what he actually is) both are part of that storyline relevance, this is key for me. I mean no he doesn't HAVE to be cute and yes he's pandering but there's just enough concealment on it that I think he succeeds a lot better at not feeling blatantly shallow about it. --- No problem!
