I am the weirdo that likes ROR2 far more than 1, haha. The Camellia song is a banger too! Also, sucks that Route 113 is not an option for me, it's a very good song but I'd vote Radical Dreamers over right about everything, as it's a true 10/10 for me. Oh well, best of luck though!

Anyway, I found this entire set to be reasonably enjoyable, but man, I just absolutely cannot go wrong with Risk of Rain! In fact, if The Face of the Deep for some inexplicable reason went up against either Dreamers or 113, I would likely choose it.

I have very mixed feelings about Camellia - it always feels like he tries to do TOO MUCH in his songs - but with Routing the good ideas outweigh the excess, I think. Honestly a pretty close match though, Coalescence is pretty solid.
Rain Formerly Known as Purple takes too long to go anywhere I enjoy, and the payoff isn't great when it does. Bamboo Boogaloo is good fun.
wow I do NOT remember RSE having any music this crazy - it's like a normal happy Pokemon route theme just decided to go bglbglhsgblsdfhshgbalhshbg and actually it does it well. Radical Dreamers is very... soothing? Certainly not bad but not bglbglhsgblsdfhshgbalhshbg enough for me right now

Great day!
Coalescence is a terrific chill track. It builds well but the last min or so of payoff doesn't land quite as hard as it could for me, maybe it needs more layers? IDK I'm nitpicking, it's still great.
I thought Routing would be one of those tracks I find unpleasant and don't get the appeal of at all, but it actually grew on me and I kinda dig its vibes now.
Bamboo v Purple is a very high quality R1 matchup. BB isn't my absolute fav Messenger track but it's a solid piece with all the high energy fast paced beeping and booping I usually enjoy. I particularly adore from 1:25-1:45 when the bass takes over with that really cool lil melody. Not sure if there's a technical term for what it's doing there but it takes the track up to a whole new level.
Unfortunately Bamboo is up against one of my fav new discoveries of the contest (I feel like I've been saying that a lot lately!). Purple is groovier and more substantial than its predecessor. I love everything going on here, from the relaxing acoustic riffs early on to the electric guitar finding its way in the middle, to the iconic climax tearing things up for 2 minutes like no tomorrow. The journey is beautiful and the payoff is immensely satisfying, I'm not quite as fussed on the denouement but who cares.
Route 113 is good but I'm not sure why it's in this contest, there are better RSE songs imo.
Radical Dreamers isn't doing anything mindblowing but it's a solid pleasant JRPG song. I kinda like that it stays at the same level throughout instead of going over the top trying to reach an emotional climax, I could close my eyes and enjoy this for some time. Probably could do with something else going on though.

Risk of Rain 1 and 2 rank in at my #1 and #2 game soundtrack, respectively. Today's selections are only my second favorite tracks off of both. They both build up tremendously well, and the synths Chris uses are kinda cherry picked to be my favorite thing in the world ever.

The chill vibe of Coalescence is real nice. The speedy vibe of Routing is also nice. Close match.

Bamboo Boogaloo rules. Glad to finally get some Messenger representation in the contest, tho it's not quite my #1. Formerly Known As Purple isn't nearly as good as Coalescence.

There's one Route song I really like. This isn't it. Radical Dreamers is always good. I think I've cried while listening to it.
