For me:

LoZ:BotW ~= SSBU > FF7R > MD

BotW's getting my vote, but really it just depends on if I want a single-player or multi-player experience at that moment. All are good, just haven't played RE2r.

FF7R > Ultimate > Re2make

Haven't played the other two. But those 3 are all incredible 10/10 games

I've only played three of these but FF7R was a masterpiece that reignited a genre that had been dissipating in recent memory. I'd say THAT is the best remake of all time, but I've yet to play RE2R.

Breath of the Wild is a good game but was highly overrated with its "game of the ever" branding; I'd say it's an 8/10.

Of the two I played RE2 >>>>>> BotW pretty easily though I dont like a certain mechanic in RE2 that makes me feel like I have to rush myself to not jumped on. Its my first RE really (I loathed Remake 1s controls so much I just watched it instead) so I basically suck at them, but I at least beat it once as Leon.

I have 7R and just havent gotten to it yet. I dont really play Smash and since Nintendo online kinda always sucks and I have nobody local to play with I dont have any reason to really get it. Ive never played a Metroid other than the demo for Dread and I couldnt figure out where the hell to go after the first 15-20mins. Everywhere seemed to take me in the same spot and I just stopped trying. Maybe one day in the future.

So yeah RE2, but more than likely only even 7R wouldve stood a chance at my personal GotY that year out of all these options.

Haven't played the others yet, will be playing Dread soon though! RE2make and BotW are both excellent games fully deserving of a title. Smash is a very good game but I'm not as into it as others are, I don't think it really did anything amazing honestly.

FF7R > Metroid Dread > Resident Evil 2 Remake > Zelda: BotW > SSBU

BotW, hands down. Zelda nostalgia goggles aside, that is the best open world game I've ever played immersion wise (RDR2 comes close for other reasons).

Only been back recently but what is up with the FF7R worship on this board. I forgot how much on the FF train some of you are haha. That game is when it comes down to good gameplay, but has typical cringey JRPG story beats and dialogue, which is half of the game. Beats me how that is a GOTY but what do I know

All fantastic. Also, almost all of them were my GOTY's as well. God of War would beat Smash for me, and Persona 5 ties BotW.

I don't record these polls but I thiiiiink LoZ:BotW won poll all five years I ran it with it as an option. Maybe it lost to Witcher 3 once when SSB4 and LoZ:LBW were in the poll (as well as FF15)...but it confidently won the other years and I think it still won that one too.
