Ehh. I'm not sure I would - Skyrim is more comfort food than something awesome. It was accessible and it's easy, which is where the appeal lies. I'm not sure I'd say it was the best. Even if Bethesda has kept re-releasing it on every console and platform they can over and over for the last 10 years, which kind of makes it feel like an even bigger deal than it was.

As for the Witcher... sure, it's a huge, sprawling game, with a deep narrative, and but it certainly had its flaws. And a fair number of people burned out on it before the end. There are definitely RPGs I enjoyed more (if we're sticking to purely subjective standards).

And even speaking as someone who almost exclusively plays RPGs and other story-heavy games these days, I'm not sure everyone would agree those sorts of games are "the best". So I could see someone who said the top three games were like Binding of Isaac, Hotline Miami, and Crypt of the Necrodancer or something.

Then again, I can't come up with a top 3 list at all, because I tend to not hierarchically rank games. I can tell you whether I hated/loved/liked/was apathetic about a given game, but I have a lot of trouble trying to say "I liked X game better than Y game". My brain just generally doesn't think that way, especially since which game I like more can change depending on my mood (or other factors).

I kinda have my go-to answers at the ready, although I have to google to double-check the year. Skyrim was just far and away better than anything else during the decade, in terms of what I got out of it entertainment-wise.

Then I loved the SR series. I'll mention that SR4's power system was probably more fun from a gameplay perspective, but I liked how the world was broken up with the ship serving as a bridge between areas, and I kinda liked 3's missions better. (And it still had the major story arcs thing whereas I remember 4 bundling shit?)

And then LBW was an afterthought, despite the fact I loved LBW.

Seriously i would have a hard time limiting it to a list of top 20 games.

Borderlands 2 is up there for sure, as is Path of Exile (in terms of just the number of hours of pure fun I've had playing it).

Also absolutely loved Steamworld Dig 1 and 2, and rogue legacy was also a-freaking-mazing.

I've replayed all of those multiple times, so I would probably crop my list by games in that decade that I not only finished, but finished more than once.

Dark souls 1-3 and bloodborne are all on the list for sure as well. Also really enjoyed and played more than once the first Nioh as well.

Fallout NV would of course be on the list of top games as well, though I generally prefer Fallout 3 slightly more, it was still amazeballs.

I have tried multiple times but never finished Skyrim even though I own it on like 3 platforms, I just could never really get into it, same with Witcher 3, so neither are on my list.

There are probably others I played multiple times and loved but I cn't remember em right now sadly.

One that rivals PoE in many ways except how it ended (and jipped me) is Marvel Heroes, but up till they just closed it on us, I would swap back and forth between the two games and loved them both. I still played that more then any other game on the list above besides Path of Exile.
