i mostly admitted i was wrong because i let certain posts in the baldwin topic sit for awhile and realized that there were some legitimate points in there. biscuit making this topic didn't have shit to do with it.

yeah, this is classic board 8 poking fun. i dunno how you could have made it so many years here and think this topic is at all strange. i wouldnt say this topic is even that hostile, i don't know how friendly you are with Biscuit in general but I think he would have made this topic about any of his closer b8 friends.

your reaction to it was massively over the top. i think if you had a little bit of self awareness, seeing this topic, along with everyone elses reactions, should provoke you into reflecting on if you might have been going too hard in that other topic. Instead, it's a kneejerk "fuck you". Just like your responses to everyone in that topic, it shows that your first reaction is always to go on the offensive instead of any self reflection.

i think if your perspective was at all self reflective, you would have realized from this topic that you were in the wrong and been like, "ok yeah im being dumb sorry guys" and this would just be a funny experience everyone would laugh off, another classic b8 experience

but instead, your nature forces you to triple down and continue the insults. your perspective even now is the same - their attitudes are all wrong and toxic but you are the reasonable one. so it's natural that some good natured ribbing just escalates to "yeah, lasa is being so dumb". you expend other peoples good will with every post you make.

Unless my eyes are deceiving me, there are exactly 2 posts from biscuit in that topic after this topic was made, and both were explaining the reasoning behind the MJ thing to someone who wasn't even involved in the argument. There was no attempt to escalate with you at all after that point by biscuit in that topic. The "discussion" he wanted to get out of the topic wasn't literally anything MJ related, just the pointless insults and escalation.

personally, I think it's bad form to make topics specifically about calling out bad posts/posters. If this topic was a serious attempt to move discussion of the MJ issue out of the Baldwin thread that would be one thing. however, it's hard for me to read this thread as anything less than an dogpile, "hey everybody check out the drama" type exercise.

that being said, that topic had been thoroughly derailed due largely to Lasa themselves in my opinion, so it's kind of a case of provocation. like joan of arc dousing herself in gasoline before people came to light her on fire.

Well, like it was said, the topic worked. Lasa apologized and admitted they shouldn't have been such a dick about it both before and after the facts came out and should've done more research, and even got an apology from someone in return.

Knowing that, it's really hard to think that if such a topic gets someone to change an objectively bad behavior, both in relation to themselves and with others (checking sources better, interacting better with others) that it wasn't a good thing to do. Like it sucks it had to come to this but if Lasa had just done this as soon as Stan Lee's thing came out and he went "oh crap, well I guess I was wrong this entire time, I'm sorry I was a dick to people for showing me how my opinion was wrong" then this topic wouldn't have felt "necessary" from biscuit's point of view.

I guess a better way to put it, would be Biscuit probably doesn't have the clear cut moral highground to outright shame someone from this argument, but they have more of the highground to do so than Lasa does to be upset that it was done.

If someone says anything to you that could be perceived as negative (in your own eyes) you instantly fly into a barrage of "fuck offs" and "fuck yous" at that person. Clearly I'm not the only one that sees this pattern from you, based on how others in both topics have responded. If you don't want people to call you thin skinned, stop being so thin skinned. Try to be a little more self aware. If you're about to go to the keyboard and start typing fuck you messages to people, maybe take a deep breath or two. Count to twenty. Get up and walk away from the keyboard. Nothing people say about you on board 8 matters in the slightest, but you can't let anything go without responding to defend yourself.

i can understand how it seems this way but this isn't actually true. like i said, the reason i apologized was because i thought about certain posts in the baldwin topic and realized there were some good points in there. also, the topic was moving so fast that i missed a few posts that also contained good points (i had to go back and catch up on everything). if biscuit had never made this topic, i would have just apologized in the baldwin topic. ok, maybe some of cly's early posts in this topic also helped me change my mind a little, but this topic really didn't do that much to change my perspective. and i certainly didn't change my mind or apologize because biscuit said "hay guys look what an idiot lasa is being."

Guys I don't care about having a moral high ground. It's a funny topic meant to get discussion away from the Baldwin topic from Lasa throwing a tantrum and being a dick to people, even though there's STILL MJ discussion in the other topic, and poking fun at what an absolute absurd kid Lasa is acting like.

Lasa was a dick to people. I made a topic poking fun at them being wrong and also being a dick to people and also to drag discussion away from there. If I just kept making fun of Lasa's inability to read and back off from an argument and generally being a spastic asshole to people WITHOUT making another topic, does that make it any worse? I don't think it does!

The fact that Lasa is still so upset about this tells you all you need to know. Dude just needs to walk away instead of caring that some guy they can't even name more than five things about thinks of them.

I should also note I don't know anything about Lasa. I can't tell you anything they're into or anything they've mentioned about them personally.

All I know is that I have seen Lasa flip out and get aggressive with people on this board multiple times. I think the fact that this is the only thing I actually know about Lasa should say enough.

I think that has been a sad part of my experience here. I'm awful at keeping track of who's who except for our more extreme personalities, but the negative moments certainly stick out more. I like board 8 collectively but have such a hard time matching details to usernames...

The thing is that you know whether it's true or not regardless of what we say. We shouldn't need to prove it to you. You can look this up yourself, too, for what it's worth.

This demand for evidence is just an excuse to either refuse to change or to refuse to examine yourself. I have no ill will toward you, but this all feels like massive amounts of insecurity.

all i can say is that in my perception, i'm not a massive dick because 1) i don't want to be one, so i'm trying not to be one and 2) my friends and family don't seem to think i'm one. however, i could be wrong. i'm always open to having my perception challenged. but if people just repeat "you're a massive dick" over and over and don't give me any proof, there's nothing i can do with that.

as for me being insecure - sure. i think i've talked about my insecurities plenty in the mental health topic. not sure how this is entirely relevant to whether or not i'm a dick, though.

People often act differently online than they do in real life and good intentions alone aren't enough. I wouldn't hold those up as proof you're not behaving poorly.

The insecurity is your inability to walk away from a fight, even if all you can do is shout profanity because you're frustrated. The insecurity is seeing the problem only as B8 instead of being willing to do some self-examination because there's no telling what you'll find.

But I can't make you do anything you don't want to do, so this will be my last contribution to this discussion. Just know I hope the best for you.

yes, i made bad posts in this topic and the alec baldwin topic. i apologized for them. i think it's a little unfair to say i'm exactly like ulti just because of this topic.

and i'm not saying i've never made uncalled for, aggressive posts before. i also made bad posts in the kobe bryant topic. and i apologized for them too. (this also makes me different from ulti, btw - he literally never apologizes for anything he says because he sees himself as an awesome alpha male who's always right about everything.) i've made some mistakes in my 17 years on this board. i'll concede that.

what i WON'T concede, however, is that i consistently act like a massive douchebag or that i'm "like ulti." that's just insulting. when you're throwing harsh accusations like that in my face, i think it's totally fair to ask for more evidence than just "well, you acted like a douchebag in this topic, right?"

like, you really think i'm like ulti? seriously? you see no huge differences between the two of us?
