Regardless, though, I'm not going to use M+KB on the Switch because my dock setup isn't conducive to that. The combat feels a little more weighted and more satisfying, which is interesting because I have always preferred the way things felt in D2 compared to D3 because 3 feels so much more floaty and arcade-like. On console the menus and inventory management is slightly cumbersome and not as intuitive as Id like. The base game might be the same, but back in the day they kept adding patches, changing things, adding synergies etc. In addition you had a HUGE player base, which created an amazing trading system. I wasn't joking about always getting an enigma within a week or two of a new ladder season/patch. That was mainly possible because people ran bots, so tons of stuff was available to trade. I didn't run one, but I was great at trading so I took advantage of it, buying low and selling high. I would get my initial currency to trade for just with +1 skill large charms (just ran for them manually for a few days to get started). The game itself is still fun without all that, but, I already have it and pluggy so I can play offline with players 8/runewords etc. That means it's just a graphical update without the advantages of pluggy, or at least that is what it sounds like to me. Honestly the graphics are still fine for me, I don't get why people care so much about a slightly better look. If the gameplay is better, that could be worth it (except I really liked the old gameplay). They really need to do a full open beta to let everyone try it cause I'm not jumping on board unless there is something there to drag me back more then is in my current d2 (already loaded on my computer...but not played in a few years). I have too many ARPG to play that have evolved past D2 at this point, some of which I'm totally holding off on until they finally exit freaking early access (Looking at you Last Epoch). At this point even if I did somehow run out of other stuff to play (which isn't going to happen anytime soon), Path of Exile pretty much will remain a better option then D2 Remastered probably. Without adding new classes, new skill trees etc, I already played every possible build in D2 to freaking death in the past, so it would just be revisting things I have done before, without the equipment that made the builds great. Hope they do add new things, but honestly, at this point, I don't know if that would even be enough for me to pay em $20+ to play it. --- Tacobot 3000 "Saving the world from not having tacos." I literally played with EVERY possible kill skill as my primary (probably multiple times). D2 was my goto summer game along with the might and magic games for a decade (along with playing it a freakton for the first few years it came out). But, some of the ability to make those skills work through nightmare at least, was based on equipment, without the equipment boosting the abilities etc, it wouldn't be nearly as fun. Still i might give old D2 a chance again and if I can get into it, and they add new stuff to the remaster, give it a try. My new gaming pc isn't arriving until probably next month so, basically it'll be like this: Diablo 1 (Finished about a week ago), Diablo 2 classic, Diablo 3 + expansions, Diablo 2 remastered, in that order. So far I feel like Diablo 1 was a bit more addicting tbh. I think it's the tower crawling aspect and the fact that enemies don't respawn, but I also didn't play multiplayer in Diablo 2 so my experience is probably way different. So say a normal Gull dagger would turn into a Gull with an exceptional dagger's base stats.
