So I kinda like Wakka and Seifer and find Backgammon, Leon, and Fang to be decent, but my two least favorite characters in the contest are in that set so good result all around

Either Fang or Sazh is my favorite XIII character but either than her I dont have particularly strong feelings for anyone in that group.

Wakka, Yunalesca, Rude, Fang, Seifer and Ba'Gamnan are all okay but I don't mind seeing them go. Eiko's the only one I really care about. Vayne is the only one I'm particularly happy to see gone. The rest are just like, whatever

Well, what is spice exactly....

Is it just a character nobody expects to go out, going out? Or someone who'd make a deep run if they weren't eliminated? Or someone who had a win or big success in the past flaming out early?

Like, if Cloud gets softbooted (which I fear happening any time MWC doesn't save him), is that really spice? He only has depth supporters and in some cases it's real deep. Like he's #7 or #8 for me. But he's a past winner and an ECC member so I guess it'd be spicy but it's not like he'll be competitive this year?

Eiko elim is less spice and more... sugar, based on most users' reactions.

Is she? In my head she's always around the bottom except when amy or Roba dragged her along.

Red Mage would have been ultimate spice though. Isn't he still top one or two in the STATS?

I just checked and Eiko has placed in the 40s for 5 contests in a row. 55th the one before that.

Now maybe those were all with Roba and she wasn't very good before that but it's still a pretty long trend and Roba is still here.

Id say spice is a strong character being booted unexpectedly. Like if Cecil ever got hard booted thats maximum spice since hes never even been soft booted or placed in the lower half ever even I think.

Alright I will ease off and amend my statement to this was the spiciest of the boots.

eh Cloud would be more spicy in terms of name recognition rather than stats, like aren't his generally pretty middling-ish? Maybe on the upper end of middling, but still. Whereas Cecil is still god tier in stats, so it depends what you prioritize as spicy

spicy to me generally means anyone with legitimate championship aspirations or a recent title

so Tifa/Aerith would be spicier than Red Mage despite the latter's STATS advantage

I feel like Cloud could theoretically fall through the cracks and get booted sometime, like Seph did last year. It'd still be spicy though. Cecil is impossible to down, and would be a bigger deal.

Id say overall sure Cloud, Squall and Zidane are more popular especially outside this contest, but Cecil is clearly stronger in this contest than all 3 of them and more consistent too because his support is never missing any year and always high priority

Squall would be very spicy! He hasn't finished below 12th since (checks)... Marche's year. Sure he's won now so he'll probably drop a bit but still.

Now on a personal level this may be the best set of 15 boots we've ever had. Nothing I love, and only one I'd even toss a save to in a rush.

Yeah I dunno if Id consider it spice. Her stats are like around bottom third and instead she places like bottom sixth. Like worse than usual but not super spicy.

I feel like for Cecil to be downed lefty has to step down and retire, and whoever has strong feelings for him either is preocuppied (Me most likely) or misses round.

But by then all the spice is probably well dried up by that point. Those 3 PS1 Protagonists will be popular forever.
