27 y/o Tramp, Tina Gonzalez, a California Corrections Officer cut a HOLE in her PANTS so she could have SEX with a PRISONER which would make it easier...and did it in FULL VIEW of 11 other inmates!!

She was sentenced to 7 months in the big house as she plead no contest to a felony count of sexual activity by a detention facility employee with a consenting confined adult, a felony count of possession of drugs and an alcoholic beverage in a ail facility and a misdemeanor on possession of a cellular device

The sheriff's office investigated after staff members were tipped off of her having sex with an inmate and said her actions were "something only a depraved mind can come up with".

She had sex with the male prisoner and gave him razors as well which is a potential weapon behind bars and told the man he can find the contraband in his cell while telling him when guards would come by

Sheriff Steve McComas said "She took an oath which she betrayed and in doing so endangered her coworkers lives. But she has shown no remorse. She continually calls and has sexually explicit conversations with the inmate in question and boasts about the crimes she carried out"

After she was questioned by sheriffs, she quit her job as her defense attorney, Martin Taleisnik said it was never her intention to bring harm or danger to her employees or anyone else and that she took responsibility for her actions.

Martin also says her marriage had ended and became vulnerable to the "attractive prison inmate" and let her hormones take control

Judge Idiart said what she did was terrible, stupid and ruined her career but also believes people can redeem themselves and she has the rest of her life to do that and wished her good luck while sentencing her to a light 7 months

The relationship is an ethical issue, but the contraband is clearly illegal. While 7 months feels like a slap on the wrist, I'm not sure what kind of a punishment would be appropriate although anything more than a few years feels excessive.

Only when it's a male in power and a female victim. It's not grape the other way around, the way the courts and society treat it.
Even merely defining grape beyond involving penetration is a struggle in a lot of western democracies.

Every power imbalance doesn't necessarily mean the weaker person was abused, but obviously there's a pretty substantial issue with a guard doing that and, as a public servant, they probably should go further than just firing them. The real issue is that there probably should be mechanisms in place to facilitate a relationship if one develops, such as disclosing the relationship, not assigning the guard to have anything to do with that inmate, and limiting their interactions to the same things a normal visitor would have.

The broader issue is that you probably shouldn't mix genders in prisons just like you don't have co-ed prisons, but that would likely be unconstitutional. As it is, you're going to have prisoners who are more interested in *anybody* of the other gender (in the case of heteros) simply because they don't get much interaction with the other gender and many of them will be overly flirtatious with guards, as we've seen. And while a guard's job is *supposed* to be turning shit like that down, a lot of them aren't used to the attention and are susceptible to it. Ultimately guards are giving into a form of corruption which needs to be punished unless there's a system in place to accommodate that relationship without compromising the safety of guards or prisoners. And honestly, inmates are people. The idea that an inmate and guard can't fall in love is ridiculous. However, for pragmatic and ethical reasons, there really needs to be some way to make sure that guards aren't coercing relationships, that inmates aren't using guards to get illegal favors, etc.

As far as I know (at least where I live), female guards are allowed in the men's jail, but male guards aren't allowed in the women's side. I think that's generally because male guards are more likely to try and force themselves on a female inmate than the other way around

...those are the photos of the guard.

If you're instead asking about the inmate, it's kind of a good question in that I'm not sure why they'd necessarily conceal his identity, particularly if he was getting the guard to commit crimes on his behalf by smuggling him objects to be used as weapons (which could have even been used to attack guards). However, in a normal sexual assault case, the victim's identity might be concealed at certain points even if it becomes public record later.

afaik, you do have men working in female prisons. It'd likely be illegal to not allow that.

In fact, I can't find anything to suggest that men don't work in female prisons -- even though I've found many things arguing they shouldn't

Ugh I hope this isn't the Tina who was a daughter of a friend I had about 20 years ago, she was 7 at the time, and her mom was a female corrections officer at a prison. If her daughter followed in her footsteps, that could easily be her.

She was 7 though so no way I can tell by the pics.

Oh well guess it doesn't matter, just a strange coincidence that Kelly (her mom) was working at a prison and this girl is the same age as Kelly's daughter would be, with the same name, and working at a prison as well.

Yeah there's enough sexual harassment / assault in women's prison from just the other inmates and female guards, they don't need to add male guards to the mix
