If you want whatever Zack Snyder is serving up, give him a miniseries to continue his universe or keep a "main" universe that's built off of Snyder's other movies. Whatever. But they should absolutely explore more standalone stories in the vein of Joker, and given that the director has a passion and a clear vision for the project, I'm 100% on board with them exploring concepts like a black Superman. It's not superseding the main universe, it's a standalone movie with no bearing on the canon of the characters - just like Joker was. I think it's a great idea if it's done right, and I don't see how this can be seen as anything but a positive.
