I dont have an issue with Kal-El being black, I'm just honestly curious why they wouldn't just use Steel; an actual black Superman. Why the reboot; why not move forward with the world they've assembled (and destroyed) and cast a NEW character that's actually black to show off real history with black people instead of trying to erase it and act like "were all the same, forget your history; my history is OUR history".

Spiderman did it in a cool way, passing the torch with Miles Morales. I think it would be cool is there was black Superman who wasn't Clark Kent.

As someone who rathers they just made stuff with characters that started their race or gender, this is great.

Superman is such a generic name and there should be a Superman who is black.

Making an Icon movie would be great too.

Also found out there might be a Static Shock movie which would be awesome.

1) if he's not Clark Kent and the movie establishes this man as a very different person like Red Son for example, that's fine. However, it's a different issue when you basically make him exactly the same only is now "X" race/gender/etc.

1) Fans are always going to look at this as "not the real Superman"

2) DC has actual characters who fill out checkboxes that they could be greenlighting projects for such as Blue Beetle, Cyborg, Martian Manhunter (already established in DCEU now), John Stewart (we could use a new GL movie), Hawkgirl/Hawkman, Static Shock, etc. But instead, we get an asterisk Superman instead of an actual unique character.

Leave the kents alone and start the story how the government imprisoned and used red sunlight to depower the kryptonian Val Zod for over a decade when he arrived on Earth. He was finally freed by Powergirl. He didnt go on a rampage to exact revenge or blood for his imprisonment. He moved on and became the next superman
