Do you have a Asian Food market near where you live?

If I were ever to move, I dont think I could ever make do without living at least 30 mins within an Asian grocery store

Theres too many amazing ingredients they stock which allows me to make Chinese, Japanese, Indian and Thai cuisine.

This last two weeks alone I have made both Red Thai Curry and Green Curry

Red Thai Curry:
https://www.fromachefskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/Thai-Red-Curry-with-Cauliflower-and-Potatoes.jpg
(but mine had bamboo shoots and Greens beans as the veggie and was served with a side of white rice with velveted chicken)

Ok, it's a weird - it's just a generic store... something something "No Frills" or Craig's No Frills or whatever the company is

There's lot of grocery stores in my town, like a sobeys a co-op a safeway a wallmart and so on... plus a handful of smaller stores like Shopper's Drug Mart, Ready Mart and Valmart and such

And while No Frills has comparable selection to a Safeway... ALL the Filipinos in town shop there and only there, it's really weird. I mean, the prices aren't any lower and it's not the closest store either. It's just kinda weird.

No, but theres a cool little Mexican grocery store that I like near Dollar Tree in Santa Cruz. They have great fresh-made tamales.

No, but we used to before we moved. Two in fact. Both Korean-owned. There was also a chinese one but it was about 35 or so minutes away which would bump it to the second option.

Well the one I go to actually is multi-Asian. They have a huge selection of fresh produce, thousands of sauces and other ingredients from many Asian cultures, etc.

But I also do have an Indian Grocer nearby as well, and multiple dedicated Latin-American grocers.

So glad to see that a majority of people have access to an Asian grocer, not they are all me and love to cook but I was more concerned about moving and not being near one. Though I doubt the same could be said if I move to a mountainous/rural region.

Kind of a sub-discussion, but recently I realized that French restaurants have become surprisingly rare. It's one of the world's great cuisines, yet it's kinda shrunk substantially. Meanwhile most areas are going to have multiple Italian places, some Chinese places, Japanese places, etc.

Restaurants in america require the people to actually move from their country to america. There hasn't been a mass migration of french people, unlike Chinese or Italians.

Also I imagine the French resturants that are around are expensive so with a higher entry fee theres going to be less of them to begin with due to the demand being low

The point was that once upon a time, they were more common. As for Italian places, most of the restauranteurs aren't exactly new arrivals either.

I know of at least one, oddly enough right next to the Anime Store, Games Workshop, and Best Buy. That is some steryotyping right there. That said, it is about 20 minutes from my house so I don't go that often (although if I ever go back to working from an office, it will be on my way home).

The grocery I am glad to be next to though is the Eastern European grocery. 30 different varieties of Kielbasa!

I know my grocers have very big international sections, but I haven't really spent much time down them. However, I kinda expect that those aisles are probably geared more towards Latin-America than Asia.

Yes. We've got two where I'm at.

One is just an asian store, it sells all kinds of stuff.

The other is a Korean store, built into a family owned restauraunt, with food and ingredients to make your own.

I'm hoping they survive, because I enjoy going to those places.

I sometimes wish we had a filippino store close by.
