The problem with his theory is that for some reason he believes the lockdowns are targeted at the fans of NCAAF for some reason. Like I can't grasp what he believes there is to gain there since most people who like college football also like some other sport(s) as well.

The majority of college football athletes are young black men so I'm not sure how he wants to spin the narrative since, in theory, the only people "hurt" by the lockdown are those black men. Not these "southern conservatives".

He's most likely wrong about it being some big conspiracy or something, but I dont think you realize how much money is in boosters of college football, and I'm sure those are almost all republican types. I'd think their power would be stripped somewhat if there was no football. To say the only people hurt by the lockdown would be the athletes that are mostly black is kinda near sighted. There is a LOT of money in college football, and the main recepiants of it are far from the players. The players obviously lose their chance to showcase their talents for a chance for a big payday by being a first round pick, but thats far from the only people who lose by this.

For the record, we shouldnt be playing sports at all right now tbh (especially team sports and high contact sports like MMA), and i doubt it gets better by early Sept.

Im going to get tested in like three hours

ive been a bit sick the past couple days. At first I thought it definitely wasnt covid because it was just like nasal stuff an fatigue, but now it feels like im having some difficulty breathing (and also diarrhea which is a bummer.) so ive become increasingly concerned that I have the virus.

but also like a month ago I was sure my appendix was going to burst and it ended up being a bladder thing so what do I know

COVID-19 is a BSL4 virus. Unless your mask is an M95, N95, or viral respirator, you are not preventing the spread of corona. I literally have mice in my lab at work with live corona in them for testing. I'm not just making things up here.

Now what I do support is social distancing, being clean, sanitizing surfaces, and all that jazz. That stuff absolutely works.

on one hand, the guy in the video you posted who is very respected and important and a doctor says its important for infected people to wear masks

The point of cloth masks is to reduce the velocity of droplets (specifically larger droplets) so that exposure is minimized and people don't receive a significant viral load as commonly as they otherwise would.

And no, 6 feet is not a magic barrier, nor is a cloth mask. The point is to mitigate the risk, even though they don't eliminate it entirely. It's not possible for the entire populace to wear N95 masks.

I mean you could be working on it in a level 4 facility, but that doesn't make the virus a BSL4 virus. For example, if I work with a level 1 pathogen where I work, it doesn't go up in threat-level.
