I always thought the NBA had the best shot and could probably pull it off, that the NFL was in complete denial, but MLB... if push came to shove I'd probably have said it'd come crashing down eventually but not in three days and I hadn't written off their season completely even if I thought the odds were against them.

They're talking about video games on Fake Doctors, Real Friends, and Zach Braff is saying he was a big fan of Hitman back in the day and would be interested in other games like it. I was yelling "Metal Gear Solid" at the podcast, but none of the other people on the show recommended it. They kept saying stuff like Assassin's Creed, Grand Theft Auto, and Red Dead Redemption.

FF7 beated. Just KotR every boss to death starting with Carry Armor. Easy game.

Reached a point in Shadowbringers where a certain character gets a new look.

I did Holminster, Dohn, and Malikah's via Trust Finder and Qitana via Duty Finder.

I like the concept of the Trust dungeons lore wise. Actual execution, well it's slower than the usual Duty Finder. Good way to learn where to stand for mechanics though!

Another funny side effect of going through the FF14 expansions is make me realize how utterly worthless Byleth is as a silent protagonist in Three Houses. Holy hell is the FF14 WoL miles better in terms of characterization and Shadowbringers just makes that contrast even more stark.

Basically, IntSys should never do a silent protagonist for Fire Emblem ever again.

I wish Byleth's dialogue choices actually mattered outside of tea parties, but as far as silent protags go, he's fine.

Compared with a protagonist like Shepard she falls far short... Or even compared to previous Fire Emblem protagonists.

Well, Shepard is a blank slate of sorts, but he's not silent, so there's a difference there. I haven't played other FE games so I have no point of reference with that. Persona is the gold standard for silent protags from my experience, but I'd take Byleth over someone like Link or characters who really don't interact with the world around them.

I mean, Shadow Dino's saying that silent protagonists are bad, and so am I. I'm not even sure what you're arguing here, since you seem to agree that silent protagonists are weaker than protagonists with dialogue?

I do prefer a protagonist that talks as a general rule, but I don't actually mind silent ones most of the time. I wouldn't just flatly say they're bad. You can do creative things with them like the Mario RPGs do. A lot of games don't though, which is unfortunate, but I don't usually view it as a serious flaw with the game or anything.

Yeah, they can be done well, and the Mario RPGs are extremely creative about it. But I feel like a character like Shepard does everything you would want from a silent protagonist, but better. You get to feel like the character is you, AND she's a strong character at the same time.

Well, Shepard expresses himself beyond just the dialogue you pick, especially in 3, so that sets him apart from your run of the mill silent protagonist.

It would've been nice to at least have Byleth say the dialogue choices aloud since literally everything else in the game is voiced.

I generally don't like when there's a silent protagonist in a clear narrative focused game where there's no choices to be made. At that point, it comes off as lazy. I can cut some slack to games that try to inject personality into the silent protagonist like the Mario RPGs and Persona games. I'm with Leon, the Persona games are the gold standard.

Warrior of Light is a badass and is Aymeric's waifu.

Byleth isn't exactly completely silent. She doesn't have very many lines but she's no Crono, Link or Isaac either. He also has battle and level up lines like everyone else when doing actual battles. But she doesn't speak during any animated cutscenes.
