Oh so certain flowers can sell for a lot? Breeding them is one thing I've yet to get involved in in this game. Well I learned my lesson here so I won't ever pick flowers again, but can't speak for others obviously.

Wait what. There's no way it was me, I assure you. Only time I've ever picked flowers was when agreed upon and that wasn't on B8. I may have accidentally run through flowers though :O But I usually do that on my own island

Yeah I have crushed a few flowers on accident in my day, though I've tried to avoid it recently.. Running is habit since all of my flowers are currently in one giant fuck off flower pile.

mnk said he was missing a bunch of flowers right after you visited a few days ago, so I assumed.

I think the only exceptions are really fish and insects because they pretty much infinitely respawn.

They really dont sell for that much to the store but other people will buy them for a lot.

I've caught like six of them trying to get that dang blue marlin.

I'm not sure if it's because of the rain, but I've been catching tons of huge fish today.

The only April fish I'm missing is the ranchu goldfish but I think that can be caught all year so it's not actually an April one

I spent like a solid hour last night trying to catch a Blue Marlin (went through like 50 bait) and caught 3 tunas! I already donated one to the museum earlier so now I have enough for the model. Then after basically giving up, I approached the dock baitless only for the first fish already swimming there to be a Blue Marlin!

But hey I missed the Stringfish so there's that.

Stringfish has been by FAR the worst one to catch so far for me, but I'm still at 100% for catches that expire with months

Oh shit, I got the Cast Master achievement and I wasn't even trying for it.

The whole thing about having to do it without missing a catch bugged me so much that I decided to not care about it. I figured I'd either get it eventually, or just devote a day towards getting it a year from now when I had nothing else left to do in the game. I didn't want to be nervous about breaking the streak and having that ruin my enjoyment of the game. ...and now I don't have to!

What's funny is that I thought for sure my streak was broken earlier today, because someone visited my island while I was fishing, and the when the cutscene came up it scared the fish away. But apparently that doesn't count as a miss, which is the right call considering how awful the visitor system works.

Do the people having trouble with cast master either play with rumble off or with something other than attached joyconns?

Once I learned how fishing worked I never missed a fish again because the rumble feedback is impossible to miss.

I fish with only the rumble

I keep my eyes closed and don't even look at the screen

Only failed me once when trying to catch the coelacanth but I was able to get it the 2nd time

Switch Lite doesn't have rumble so I'm having to make an assumption here. Are you telling me the joycon rumbles on the sink bite?

I rely on sound / vision so usually when I miss a catch it's because I either pulled out of the water trying to reposition and fish saw it last second or I'm watching TV/talking to someone/whatever and so miss the sound or glance away from the screen

So I recruited 3 villagers prior to building the 3 starter plots. I completed the houses yesterday and today 1 of them moved in. I had thought all 3 would move in same day since they were all recruited same day and all houses finished at the same time

Are they really going to move in at a rate of 1 per day? And I can't recruit more villagers until they are all in?

Yes. And get used to it, because the majority of Animal Crossings mechanics work on a one at a time, once a day system.

I mean I guess but it also feels really restrictive right now as there's so little for me to do on my island since it's brand new. Pretty sure I've already done everything on my island already for today so all that is left to do is to fish / catch bugs to try get the 550k to pay off Nook's upgrade tomorrow morning

EDIT: I assume anything after my first bridge is locked behind some other upgrade too right? My first bridge was finished this morning but I don't see any option to make more bridges. Can't craft them and Nook doesn't mention anything about them

Animal Crossing is meant to be a slow burn, if youve done everything you can do for the day you shut it off and move on to something else and come back tomorrow. Its not really supposed to be something you play for hours at a time.

Yeah I dunno man it's not like pokemon, there's no overarching plot that has to be solved quickly, even when you unlock everything there won't be anything to do other than fish and shake trees and try to design clothing

I seem to have...LOST a DIY? I had the Cosmos Crown from the tutorial houses, but I'm not seeing it anymore.

Maybe you have cosmos wreath and just mixed it up in your mind? The crown is a clothing item so that would be an odd request for the housing furnishment.
