Yes, I am worried. The last flu season was bad and I don't want to have to deal with another flu like illness because people refuse to use their sick days.

I'm not sure if this counts as "concerned", but I'm not planning on going anywhere I don't "have" to for the foreseeable future. I'll go to work, to the supermarket, or out to buy something I need like light bulbs, but I'm not going to go to McDonald's or out to buy clothes I don't immediately need.

That was my thought, like if I get it no big deal, my immune system can fight it off, but what if I give it to my dad or some older relative.

This exactly. If I catch it I'll have to send my mom to stay at my sister's for a while. I can ride it out if I get it, and if I can't.. well, it's been a heck of a ride.

I'm not worried. And my family is halfway across the country. So, the only person I'd probably pass it to is my roommate. So, other than each other, we have co-workers. But we'd probably stay home if sick, anyway...

I'm more concerned about losing my part-time job or passing the disease on to my autoimmune compromised daughter than getting it, though I'm taking all the precautions that I can. I believe Master Ugquay said in the movie Kung Fu Panda "You often meet your fate on the path you take to avoid it".

yes. currently fighting with my boss to just quit. I work in a hospital kitchen as a dishwasher and I am terrified. I tried to quit the other day. she said I need to do 2 weeks notice. I offically "notified" them yesterday. my last day is supposed to be april 2nd. I have 8 more shifts to do until then. but last night (it's a night job) was hell for me. I really do not want to go back. and I am thinking of just telling her to fuck off. I don't care anymore. this is not a normal time. and she doesn't even think it's that big a deal. she's not paying attention to the news like I am. she actually told me that it's going to be all over in 2 weeks. I have no idea where she got that idea. and my coworkers aren't distancing themselves. I was the only one last night trying to stay apart. and people kept getting to close to me. it was driving me insane

Fairly sure I have it and it seemed like it all passed after 3 days then bam, another wave and vomiting when food doesn't go down without a fight. The worst part is still just lost wages though. I'm not concerned, it's just inconvenient.

Im pretty sure you can just quit without two weeks notice. Though, I wouldnt expect to be able to go back afterwards if you need a job again. And they probably wont give you a good recommendation if you try to get another job. Though, IIRC, you dont need to work, right? If you did, I think they are giving jobs to people to help with this in some capacity. But they might have a better chance at catching it, so...

I'm only concerned that I might not get a check because

  1. I don't file taxes, and
  2. Congress keeps dragging its feet on this bill as usual, because God forbid we send money to Americans for once.

Pretty much. I'll probably be alright if I do end up getting it (I am asthmatic, but fairly mildly so), but I'm still taking suitable precautions to avoid it and also to make sure I don't spread it to anyone else if I do catch it.

Honestly, yes, I sort of am. I'm disabled to start with, wound up in hospital when I had the flu last summer, and my asthma isn't well-controlled. On top of that, I can't totally self-isolate because I need my caregivers to keep coming in to help me. If I catch COVID-19 I run a serious risk of actually dying from it. :(
