Hidden abilities for the starters:

Rillaboom - Grassy Surge
Inteleon - Sniper
Cinderace - Libero (same effect as Protean)

Out of those, Cinderace has the best hidden ability.

Based on regular Linoone, here's the most likely stat boosts for Obstagoon:

HP: +20
Atk: +20
Def: +40
SpA: +0
SpD: +20
Spe: +0

This would put Obstagoon at 520 BST (Linoone is 420 BST).

And here were Obstagoon's actual base stat boosts compared to Linoone:

HP: +15
Atk: +20
Def: +40
SpA: +10
SpD: +20
Spe: -5

I correctly predicted Atk, Def, and SpD. HP was only boosted by 15 and Game Freak gave a rather unnecessary +10 to SpA. And a -5 drop in Speed. Overall, the boosts gave Obstagoon a 520 BST, which I already predicted. Just not in the exact manner I was expecting.

Yes, it's for the Gigantamax form. Story spoilers - The Gigantamax form is apparently a story exclusive form. It won't be available to use in battle outside of the story (there's a in-game battle against Gigantamax Eternatus).

Sinnoh totally confirmed by the lack of legendaries. Maybe Johto confirmed too! I'm glad it wasn't just Meltan, but Zeraora too. Sales numbers would show that less people had access to that one.

Eevee evolution retcons is great. Should've gone all the way and included Sun/Moon or Dawn/Dusk for Espeon/Umbreon and Shiny for Sylveon.

Libero as Cinderace's HA just reinforces me wanting to pronounce the name like Liberace.

Yeah I think it's the increased price that is the biggest issue for me with getting this game. If it was still $40 I'd prolly grab it, but too much was cut from what I like for the $60 I think... more likely to buy Fallen Order and wait on this I think.

Galarian Darmanitan still has Zen Mode, but it looks like it turns into Ice/Fire when it activates.

They just got rid of location based evolutions in general. Charjabug evolves with a Thunder Stone too.

Huh I guess the fossils are meant for weather teams. The Arcto ones get Slush Rush and the Draco ones get Sand Rush as their HAs. They also all get different second regular abilities, so no lame Water/Volt Absorb for singles. Hopefully Dracovish has the moves to make use of Strong Jaw.

They didn't give weather inducting abilities to anything else, so Pelipper is really the only rain setter in Galar.

Nope, was in Gen VII. Primarily Bruxish's "signature" move, but a few others like Stoutland and Sharpedo could learn it too.

Also I can't believe so many moves got gutted.

Tail Glow was not erased. It just doesn't have any mons that learn it currently. It can presumably still be called by Metronome.

Ice Scales is cool (takes half damage from all special attacks), but I'm sad Frosmoth didn't get Compoundeyes. Would've been sick to see it flinging Quiver Dance-boosted Blizzards and Hurricanes left and right.

Not like it matters with that speed and typing. I don't know how after 8 generations Game Freak still doesn't know how to make an Ice type. Weavile is literally the only one built how an Ice type should be.

It's probably going to make more of a competitive impact than the original ever did. Give it a Choice Scarf on top of its built in Choice Band and you're looking at a Pokemon with 230 Attack and 137.5 Speed.

Well hey if you don't like the choice band ability you can get the zen mode one that turns it into a 160 attack, 135 speed Fire/Ice monster when it's under half hp.

And you could always just go Zen Mode, which is the second ever Ice type built correctly. I just don't know how easy it is to get in Zen Mode since nobody ever used the original because it was so bad.

Nobody ever used Zen Mode because it turned it into a special attacker and the other ability was Sheer Force
