It sounds like youd rather see your child be a boy than be happy and fulfilled and thats just weird.

I would rather no one be in this situation, period. I can't speak for trans people, but I would take a guess that they'd rather have been born as the sex they feel they are, as opposed to be tormented by people and be on hormone treatment the rest of their life. Imagine how terrible that would be.

There are multiple reasons why I wouldn't want my son to go through that.

1: He's been raised as a boy and I am bit selfish in wanting him to remain as my little man.

2: The above mentioned paragraph. Bullying is already bad enough for kids.

There's no real harm in going on puberty blockers to give kids more time to make a decision. The results of transgendered adults who had properly supportive parents at a young age are pretty amazing not just in looks but also mental wellbeing.

No real harm, other that chemical castration and incurable bone and joint problems.

And, no - kids who go through that still commit suicide about 40% of the time, whereas most of the kids who progress naturally through puberty actually grow out of their gender dysphoria.

They found no evidence Luna is being forced to dress as a girl
Her teacher says she never felt anyone was pressuring her to be a girl, and that she preferred to go by Luna
The schools assistant principal also had no concerns about her being pressured
Luna stated she was afraid of her dad because he forces her to dress as a boy
CPS agent states that they have no doubt that it was Lunas choice to call herself Luna and Lunas choice to wear dresses.

It then brings up a second CPS case. This one against the father for emotional abuse. Where it talks about Luna being afraid of her father because he decided her hair was too long, cut her hair and forced her to dress as a boy.

Reversible treatment is fine. Irreversible treatment should wait until he's an adult.

I think the hand waving is coming from the notion that people seem to think puberty blockers are completely reversible and have no side effects or potential long term consequences whatsoever.

Im not an expert on transgender health or puberty blockers in general, but Im a physician who does deal with adolescent females from time to time and Im wise enough to know that altering mechanisms that permanently change your physiology probably do have some kind of consequence.

As much as I dislike giving in, I will agree with you. Perhaps there could be more to this story than what was initially let on.

The fact that the kid is approved for transition should've been enough evidence of that. Approval that young doesn't come lightly.
