Spidey5 12/28/18 1:09:13 AM #305:	Having started it on July 6th, just finished the second completed long series on my list, after Dragonball, Hajime no Ippo. Fantastic series. Hype, hype, and more hype. Would recommend to anyone even non-boxing fans, though its a fair investment at 75 episodes. Not sure if I'll watch any of the follow up material, since I heard none of them are as good, but I enjoyed what I saw. Plenty of emotions throughout the series from Happy, to sad, to HOLY SHIT. Calwings 12/28/18 3:16:12 PM #317:	I like how these Revue Starlight OVA's after the main series all seem to be focused on Hikari coming out of her shell and becoming more comfortable around the other Starlight girls besides Karen. The first OVA was her, Futaba, Mahiru, and Banana hanging out in the dressing room, getting measured for their costumes, and discussing their heights and other certain... features. Hikari eventually steps, manages to cheer Futaba up with a story, and they become closer friends. It was cute. The newest OVA was her, Maya, and Junna talking about the differences between how she and Maya perform the role of Claire. I was shocked at just how much frustration Maya showed (she may not lose often, but she's totally a sore loser when she does) about losing the role before Junna found a way to bring Maya and Hikari back on the same page. The conversation helped reveal that Maya is a lot less perfect and a lot more human than most thought, and it helped Hikari open up her feelings more. There's one more OVA to come with the last BD volume, which will most likely feature Hikari interacting with Claudine and Kaoruko. Karen hasn't been involved at all in the first two, and I expect that to continue since the point of the OVA's looks to be (as I mentioned) to show Hikari warming up to the others. These OVA's are only reinforcing the perfect 10 rating I gave this series by showing even more depth and interaction to make me like the characters even more than I already did. FOR THE LOVE OF STARLIGHT, CAN WE PLEASE GET A SEASON TWO!? I find the character design, audio design, OST, and general "feel" of the anime really high quality. I watched the sub and it is well acted. The battles and tactics really reflect a reflexive D&D thinker, and it is really refreshing to see an anime based in a Fantasy setting that is more about tactics and just "what works" over fancy techniques and abilities. Need to kill a large enemy? Lure it over a tripline, have it fall down, stab it in the back of the head. No need for some amazing STABBY DEATH move. Yet, its overabundance of fanservice and the disappointing shock-value use of sexual assault is really disappointing. Especially since the first episode when it aired did not have a warning about it. My wife, who LOVES anime, was negatively affected by some of the imagery to the point she couldn't watch the rest of the series. It is "triggering" to those who have lived through sexual assault, and there was no warning, no indication that such content would be part of the series. It seems they learned their lesson, as nothing was as... exploitative throughout the rest of the season, but it was still disappointing. I will personally watch whatever they do next as I feel everyone deserves to learn from their mistakes. The quality is up there, and if you want a more gritty fantasy setting with an intriguing, oddly complex main protagonist, I'd definitely give it a shot. Just be warned, the first episode is VERY graphic. The other thing for me is just that, while I'm pretty fair and am willing to give most shows a chance, I'm just not all to into, I'd probably guess the majority of anime.
