So I just discovered that Ridley's side B is exactly the same as Bowser and Ganon's side B. Except instead of dying first when they plummet off a cliff, Ridley dies first if he sends you both off the side of a stage that is totally flat the whole way. I grabbed Mario in his classic mode and ernt the whole way across the Mario Galaxy stage with him and died. It was super unfortunate.

I played Rosalina's classic mode

I died twice because her recovery launched me the wrong way more than once (I tried experimenting with it after the first time but couldn't figure out what horizontal direction it would send me in - It doesn't seem to be the one you're facing). Then I lost the Dedede unlock fight for the same reason lmao

I'm not sure about Ganom but Bowser dies first now.

Speaking of this, I just got my first 9.9 in Classic Mode with K. Rool! He's got so many options in this game. Only drawback is that his Up B leaves him open sometimes and is his only form of recovery. I get a ton of mileage out of close range B though. If you hold it in and you hit them with the initial cannonball, it hits them with a second one that just sends them flying so far.

All you get with 9.9 Intensity in Classic Mode is a Min crown though. Weak.

Also, under the Games & More challenge category there is one where you have to play as Ken in Century Smash using only special moves.

They want you to be flow chart Ken against everyone. I love this fucking game.

Wooo, beat Fiora. Disappointed she's just a support spirit. Also sad Morag's just a 1*.

Fuck those Kirbies with Star Rods. I seem to do the best when I use a curry breath spirit to just kinda hit them a bunch early, but still the best I've managed is to knock out two of the four. Using Villager, riding back and forth a bunch on the gyroid racks up a lot of damage. I don't see anyone else talking about this one being tough so it must just be me sucking, lol.

I imagine if I get one of the spirits with the reflector item that it'd make things easier.

I've seen people say to the best way to handle that one is to try to get it to kill itself on the stage hazard. I haven't tried that method yet though.

Out of curiosity, is there any use for duplicate spirits besides transfer fodder? My Alm and Celica amiibo both gave me their young form spirit.

Yeah, Franklin Badge helped a lot in beating the Star Rod Kirbies. Still took a few tries, but they went down.

Okay I am absolutely stuck on 18 Volt & 9 Volt. There's a Sheriff spawning with Incineroar and Villager. All Villager does it spawn missiles. And they drop the space Invaders item. I am convinced this one is impossible because you just can't dodge everything they throw at you with this one.

I'm also going to put a bunch of points into my Simon Belmont. He's the first character that I actually play that I've unlocked in Adventure mode so that may help.

Other fight that seems almost impossible: The Boss. The ZSS is impossibly fast and you need to dedicate 3 slots to anti-poison in order to not take one health of damage every second. I just have no idea how to best it.

Finally unlocked all characters. I must have lost to Ganondorf ten times before I was able to beat him.

This is my first Smash since Brawl, which I haven't played in 10 years, and I'm having a lot of fun. Definitely need to learn how to play though before I join any B8 stuff.

Yeah, this one is a huge pain since the Sheriff is an absolute sniper. I had to resort to bringing out Kirby, who I never normally touch, and use spirits that have Assist Killer and increased Down B damage. That way the Sheriff dies in 2-3 stones and the fight becomes a lot more manageable.

My biggest bugbear about the game so far though is the fact there's four versions of Lost in Thoughts All Alone in the soundtrack, and that's all the Fates music there is. Minor in the grand scheme of things but irritating nonetheless.

I got a pro controller. It makes a good difference because the spacing of the buttons with the joycon controller thing is still kind of awkward in comparison.

I've decided after doing the credit mini game 10+ times, that it goes on for way too long. I wish the fast forward went a little slower but still allowed you to shoot and get a couple presents.

I may have to give up on Robin. He's just so bad at everything. I can imagine him being good in a team battle where you have an ally to distract people, but he's like the second slowest character in the game and has terrible range for a swordsman.

As much as I'm enjoying this game overall, the online is a huge blemish on it. The match making system seems to just prioritize free for alls above everything else, because finding a 1v1 is like a coin flip at best unless you just search battle arenas non-stop, which have a host of interface issues and are way too slow unless the host set it to only allow 2 people. They claimed they would sometimes not be able to give you your preferred format/ruleset because they'd prioritize connection, but they constantly throw you into laggy FFAs even though the 1v1s you get are mostly much better connections...
