You're right, it's evenly split and basically always has been.



That being said... most people fall somewhere in the middle of the spectrum.



Only 18% of the country wants abortion entirely outlawed. More want it as an option in all cases (29%) and the remaining half of the country wants it but with some limits (not in the third trimester, etc).

If you had to live with a drug addict you would understand. They're intolerable, even when they finally start recovery treatment for some time. Thankfully I mostly get along with this person now, but trust me when I say I'm never going through it again, no matter what the cost.

If you are referring to me, there was no real agreement, it was my sister. I either dealt with it or completely uprooted my life to get out of it. She stole all kinds of stuff from the house, including my DSi XL to pay for her habit. We had to get bolt locks on our rooms. My parents tried banning her from the house briefly, but it barely helped. It was years ago now, so I forget, but she eventually got into treatment. We mostly get along now, but she can still be a major pain in the ass, randomly yelling about shit. I recently got noise canceling headphones and some other stuff to block her out.

She also happened to bring her damn baby home when she came back, so she was living in the living room, in the way of everyone. So my parents rushed out to get a contractor to build a second story on the house and it turned out to be a bad contractor. We had rain coming through the ceiling for awhile before we finally got a good contractor, which overall took forever to complete. It was a complete nightmare. I won't have my life and time wasted like that again. Simple murder is actually me being merciful if I'm ever put in a situation like that again.

I am actually in favor of minimizing the number of abortions, though there are two caveats:

1) Blanket outlawing abortion doesn't make the problem go away, it just makes women who feel they need one (And, frankly, there are justifiable reasons to have one) turn to dangerous, unregulated/uncontrolled methods

2) The usual vocal "pro-life" crowd is also against other things that reduce the number of abortions, such as better/more modern birth control, reasonable (not abstinence-only) sex education, etc etc. They also view it as trying to force the woman to 'take responsibility' for having sex, which is fucking asinine.

I also have zero respect for "Life begins at coneption" argument because it shows the person making the argument has literally zero grasp of science.

# of abortions has gone way down since it was legalized. Though that's just a correlation. A good country to compare to is Bulgaria which had the highest abortion rates for a time.

Life does begin at conception. What's anti-science is precisely drawing the line at any further arbitrary point. (There are even people advocating for murdering newborns lately.) Murder being legal does not make it not murder.

I agree that outlawing abortion will not make it go away entirely, but it will certainly decrease the number of killed babies, which is a good thing. I am not against "birth control," I am not against actual sex education (i.e. how babies are actually brought about, sexually-transmitted diseases, etc.) once they're teenagers, but I am of course against explicit sexual "education" and brainwashing children with gender nonsense - especially young children. We will eliminate that cancer to society.

This is the wrong medium to get an accurate picture. People who have children already and experienced the joys of a life being born are more likely to be pro-life, while younger people who haven't and are more likely to view themselves as having a future which would be burdened by a child are more likely to be pro-choice.

This forum mostly skews to those who haven't had children or who are still in the waning years of youth. Thus, the poll should be lopsided towards pro-choice.

I think it is a reasonable argument to have that people who OD shouldn't be revived over and over again. Also, to not feel sympathy for someone who kills themselves via drugs.

But, to outright think everyone who does drugs should be killed is a pretty fucked up viewpoint to have.

I mean, unless you have some deeply ingrained hatred due to somehow drugs causing major troubles in your life and like causing death upon your family, you have a very extreme viewpoint on it that is sadistic. And if the former is true, you maybe should look into talking to someone about the issue.

I mean, I hate drugs. I don't agree with multiple narcans. I don't agree with drug clinics. Etc.

But, wishing all drug users would die is insane.

I don't disagree on the drug traffickers of large quantities and those who deal drugs which kill others. But, I mean, that has to go through the court of law.
