almost the day of 9/11

Was in grade four. During morning announcements they mentioned a tragedy but I didn't know what they were talking about.

Went home after school and all my cartoons were replaced with news footage instead.

In high school we had a 2 hour class called Seminar where you could just work on your homework and it happened during that and they brought in a tv so we could watch

I believe I was in a 4th grade study hall classroom. A tv was wheeled in so we could follow what was happening. I didn't know exactly how to feel about the senseless destruction beyond a vague sadness as I had no idea what "terrorism" was back then.

Got up to go to school, mom was on the couch watching tv. She says somethings happened in New York.

French class in grade 4 or 5 or something. They had the news on all class then after school we all went home and watched on television. I'm Canadian btw

I was home shortly after coming back from school.I saw my parents talk about it and saw the images on TV but I was too young to quite understand that thousands had just died, so I went outside and played like usual.

1st grade, got signed out from school around 9 am and then watched the news at home though I didn't really get what was happening fully.

Was in 7th grade. I remember hearing about it in my 4th-hour study hall and being shaken by it. I can picture that room in the prison (aka middle school) in my head. I remember my social studies teacher canceled her lesson plans to let us watch history unfolding on TV.

About to leave for work, waiting for my ride to show up, I turned on the tv which happened to already be on a news station and then like most of the world watched the second plane hit live on tv.

Was in 4th grade gym class. Came back from gym class and the teacher was just crying with the tv on in the corner of the room.

4th grade on the bus going on a field trip to DC. We sat on there for like 3 hours and were confused as hell until the teachers took us out and we watched the news while our parents came to pick us up.

Was in 7th grade I think. Woke up and my mom was in a panic, and when I went into the living room, I turned to look at the news just in time to watch the second plane hit the second tower.

The way sixth grade worked you started in your main classroom for a few minutes, but then youd rotate to one of the other six grade teachers for one subject, then another teacher, and then youd be back with your main teacher for the rest of the day. I assume this was to ease us into the way jr high works. The planes hit minutes before school started. Nobody knew about it yet so we did the normal routine, until we were sent back to our main classroom after the first rotation was done instead of going to the second rotation. Then we watched both towers fall live on TV. I know we kept watching for quite a while but I dont remember if it was the whole day. I do remember the next day our teacher talked to us about everything that had happened and one kid asked Are we gonna die? and she said I dont know.

I remember getting to school and they just wheeled TVs into every classroom and let us watch the news. We had to shuffle between classrooms like normal, but no one even pretended to make us learn.

The end of the school day when I was in 6th grade. A student from another school where they shared the news with them approached us at our lunchtime, and said something like "America was attacked! Have you seen?" we didn't understand so we pressed him for information. He said the WTC has destroyed. I panicked as my father's office was in the WTC, and he was on a flight from Miami to Kennedy that morning. I said my father works at the WTC. He said" then he's probably dead"

I had to sit on that until the end of the day, when they finally showed us the news. Someone took me to call my family, and thankfully my father's plane was grounded in Kennedy, and he was fine.

I was 17, Got home early, just chilling, playing some N64. I turn on BBC1, I see smoking towers and about 15 secs later, I get a text from m friend.

I remember hearing about it over the radio driving to class, but didn't quite believe/process what was going on until said class ended early in response to it.

I also remember going to the mall soon after for no good reason, and the place being half-closed. It was kinda eerie.

Was in class. TV's were turned on. I didn't quite understand the extent of what happened, but knew something was wrong. They told us not to tell 3rd graders and below.

Was in grade school. All the teachers were in the hall talking and told us to stay put and do worksheets or something. Nothing was said and the day went on as usual. When I got home my mom told me. I didn't really grasp what had happened at the time. I went upstairs and I think I watched Johnny Bravo.

I vaguely heard something about a plane crash on the morning radio, but I was half-asleep and not paying attention.

Then in class they wheeled in a TV and we were basically discussing it all class.

I was home and was supposed to stay home anyways because there was an important doctors appointment for my grandma and another one as well. But I always remember the next day at school where my chemsirty teacher would write out the week on the board and under that day he just crossed it out and said Day of Infirmary

Stayed home sick from school. Went to get orange juice before a nap. Was flipping channels and saw a building on fire. About two minutes later the second plane hit. Watched for probably the next 12 hours. I never did take that nap.

10th grade Algebra II

They tried to have a "normal" school day, so we were only allowed to watch the news in between classes before the bell rang.

In my dorm room. Woke up late, about 10. Roommate came in, told me he heard someone crashed planes into the WTC. I laughed at him. He didn't really believe it himself. So we turned on CNN.

9th grade home room. I lived on Long Island at the time.
