I'm a fan of the ambiguous well played where it's like, you're both at low health, you have lethal on board, they have no hand, draw their card, and you don't know if it means you won or lost

When someone says thank you I almost always assume its BM.

Makes sense. I mean I never actually dove into researching but I assume the reason they got rid of /sorry is that is was used for BM 117% of the time

Sorry getting the axe kind of ruined emotes for me, it was 90% of what I'd use. BM had to go and ruin my legitimate use of the thing.

I'm so annoyed by this new Zoo list that I'm seeing every other game that I'm about to run it's worst matchup regardless of what else is on ladder.

3 times now I've gone from 3 stars at rank 6 back to rank 7.

The worst part is that Control Mage is apparently a bad matchup for it, so either that's wrong or I've gotten highrolled like 5 games in a row now. I always mulligan for Zoo too.

I got a friend request once from a guy I'd just beaten. He told me to die and then blocked me before I could respond

Well, at least, not from my experience.

People would just do /sorry after every time they played a card in any circumstance in which they were winning. But /wow is more like "goodness I can't believe how un/lucky you/I was just then!"

Sure some people do /wow to say "you suck" but to put it on the same level as /sorry? No way.

I get tons of WOWs when I play my first card as Murloc Mage or Even Warrior/Rogue or other super fringe decks.

Sure, that's another use of it, yeah. But it's still not even close to the level of /sorry.

Like in that case it means "lol your deck isn't in the meta scrub" but do they /wow every turn?

And...if they do...it amplifies the sweetness of your victories :)

Ive been having some issues with this tavern brawl on my phone. My opponent druid does druid things but then his turn ends and his animations eat up my entire turn.

This doesn't happen on pc so i think it has to do with my phone running the animations more slowly. Idk.

Eh i was wondering if it had more to do with my playing on a phone that's only just qualified to run hearthstone. I was wondering if anyone on a more qualified device could confirm if this happens to them.

It isn't an issue in normal games because opponents don't have mana to play 15+ cards but in the brawl they can.

I'll add anybody for any reason.

Couple years ago, someone sent me a friend request after beating me in what was a pretty lopsided game in their favor. I was trying to finish a murloc quest, and when I try and finish quests I don't make competitive decks that can eventually do the job. There's no Murloc Paladin in my quest completion wheelhouse, every card in the deck is either a murloc or has the word draw on it. I don't think it could have been any more obvious what I was going for.

So I get a friend request immediately after losing, which is rare. I think it was only my second ever after game friend request at that point? Thought maybe he was going to ask me if I finished the quest or something. Nope. Told me I sucked and that I should find a better netdeck. This guy seriously thought I was playing a netdeck.

To get back to the start of this post, dude is still on my friends list today. Now, I've never talked to him since then, but he's still there. Always stuck with me because people seem to constantly get friend requests that immediately turn into hoping you get cancer or your parents die in a fire, which causes them to no longer accept friend requests, and my worst experience is some guy mildly annoyed that I was playing a bad deck.

I'll attempt to add people after an interesting game. It doesn't matter if I wont or loss, if it was an interesting situation I'll add them to say gg and talk about what we just experienced.

But 95% of the time it gets ignored, which is fine.

But then of that 95% it feels like half the time they will have just ignored the request without denying it, and then the accept it a week or two later and ask me why I added them, and at that point I have no idea because the moment is past.

It has been a mostly fruitless endeavor, but I persist. The few people who do accept are typically very pleased by the fact that I don't tell them to get cancer and die. Instead I try to say something positive and wish them luck in the rest of their games. I have a couple of randomly added friends who will conversate with me from time to time.

Also, there was 1 magical night where I played five, yes FIVE, "play with a friend for 80g" games IN A ROW.'

Someone hit me up for their quest game, and as soon as the game started someone else did.

And then someone else did when that game started.

And then again... and again.

I played 5 games and made over 400 gold (because I finished some other quest during the friendly matches as well).

There was at least 1 Board 8 user in there, but most were just random adds who happened to need someone for the quest and there I was. It was spectacular.

...I got a friend request once after a completely ridiculous game I won in stunning fashion. Been too long but I might still have the chat log screenshotted on my computer. It was way back when...I was running a Reno Hunter...all I remember clearly is I summoned two Thaddiuses by killing Stalagg and Feugen at the same time, then my opponent played Deathwing, then I played deadly shot + Reno as my final 2 cards. We chatted casually for a while, then he faded into obscurity, and then I eventually removed him.

There was one time I was playing in the wee hours of the morning after a night at the bars, and after losing to a nonstop BMer at like rank 20 I friend requested them just to mock them for trying to BM at literally rank 20...and then I removed them before they could reply...>____>

OH YEAH and there was one time someone immediately friend requested me after losing to me, and started (presumably) cursing at me completely in spanish. I had no clue what they were saying aside from the occasional card name. I used google and gathered that they were super convinced I only won due to them making one single mistake but really it was a scenario where if they hadn't made the mistake, I just had a slightly different play in my hand which they never saw but would have ruined them just as well.

I never look forward to those interactions but I don't shy away from them either.

Apparently it's "get shit on by priests" day and nobody told me.

Three games in a row I've been owned in the most annoying ways. Once to a guy who played a shadow ascendant and I could never...quite...kill it. And he ended up getting like 8 turns out of it to where I couldn't keep up. (There were buffs involved.) Then I face a guy and basically the same thing happens with a lightspawn. Could always just get it down to 1 or 2. But he had like 4 minions that buff or restore health as a battlecry and a couple spells, and he ended up getting like a 6 for 1 trade for that minion. Then just now, a guy thoughtsteals molten blade from my deck and gets woe cleaver, which pulled a cretin (the 5/9 taunt) and next turn obsidian statue.

Goodness.
