That was about right, yeah. I'm no expert but he just didn't look right. Slower, technique nowhere near as sharp as other fighters I've seen

I marked out for that one takedown he got though.

But hey good on him for going the distance

Round one wasn't so bad. Some people said he may have even won round one because he got a take down. But he was completely gassed. The CM Punk/Mike Jackson fight had me reminiscent of the McGregor/Mayweather. Outsider outclassed. Punk had sparks of something but severally lacked the Strength and Conditioning to do just about anything. Jackson's arrogance kept Punk in. Should have been out in Round 2.

That Jackson performance... man they did not want Punk getting melted by their uber jobber. If Jackson lands another fight...

Who could they conceivably get that would be a fair fight for Punk?

They would need to create a celebrity division for freakshow fights if they want Punk to win.

Even though I think he won round 1, those spinning kicks were really bad. Jackson is one of the worst fighters I've ever seen.

I had him easily behind round 1. Just some odd flailing kicks and a takedown that did nothing and led to heavy punishment as they stood up. Like his best weapon was laughed up and he ate a good liver shot. It was hard to watch just so cringe worthy.

There's a pretty basic story to tell for him as a heel, too. The original indie guy to make it big in the WWE, coming back to put all these new indie guys in their place.

Wrestlers drop in power level all the time in WWE! If Jack Swagger can go from beating Orton clean to being a big ol' jobber, then the same can happen to Punk.

I don't think Punk is going back to wrestling anytime soon.

This man is so miserable and bitter and was crying having to recollect how he felt in his last months of his wrestling career because of how badly he felt about it. He had said he just felt so relieved to finally put his entire wrestling career behind him. It's like a trauma for him.

Not exactly. Rousey was great, so was Lesnar. What has Punk done in UFC that would make him great? He hasnt won and has looked bad in both of his fights.

My point is that both Rousey and Lesnar came to the WWE after their time at the top in UFC ended, so if you want to think UFC affects WWE kayfabe, WWE has already firmly established that a past their prime UFC star is better than any pro wrestler. Punk getting his ass handed to him doesn't really matter much.

Still wrong. Rousey and Lesnar both had time at the top of UFC, and were both established UFC stars at one point before dropping. Punk was never a UFC star. He was never on top. He was always on the bottom.

If you want to think this helps pave the way for a triumphant WWE return for Punk where he gets Lesnar or Rousey treatment you can, but that doesnt mean that its likely, especially after the way he left and the way he gets his ass handed to him in UFC. Look at how other UFC people are in WWE. Isnt Sonya Deville or however her name is spelled a former UFC or MMA person? Punk would be a lot more like her if he ever returned, because she was never a huge deal in the MMA world. If Punk hadnt made a name for himself in wrestling he probably wouldnt have even got a shot in UFC. Thats not a star. Thats just a guy. Hes the UFC equivalent of Curt Hawkins.

WWE actually booking former UFC stars as gods does so much more to make UFC > WWE seem true in kayfabe that Punk's UFC career doesn't really enter the equation. A guy who left years ago and is past his physical prime gets mauled in the UFC? Well, no kidding - people who aren't amazing anymore are better than the best the WWE has to offer, of course a past his prime wrestler sucks. Him sucking on a UFC show has a lot less impact on how WWE looks than what they book on their own shows.

Well, Brock and Rousey still were at the top of their divisions at times, and one or two losses is not too big of a deal when they built up a resume, so even if they appear as "past their prime", it's still reasonable that they'd do well in WWE. Punk never got anywhere in UFC, he doesnt even have a prime.

Vince would welcome him with open arms. HHH would probably argue against it but in the end act like he is fine because he's a yes man. Last night Punk looked completely gassed and I know MMA shape are two completely different things but idk if he could do the carrying like he used to.

Yeah his prime was pretty much contract day or the days leading up to the Gall fight. Even Dana is done with him.

In general I think Punk's pro-wrestling credibility is OK but it would be hard to have him and Brock in the same atmosphere. There are some obvious and cool storylines if you can erase Brock from the picture, and even then, they can work around it... but I don't think he has any interest and he didn't waste all his money.
