Board 8 > Can you imagine how much better this board would be with a 50/50 gender rate?

Since I've been here I've noticed we actively chase off women pretty heavily. I think there's a restaurant term for when demographics shift in one way so heavily that it's impossible to go back to a balanced customer base. Board 8 actively has that going on right now, and I wonder if there's any way to fix that.

I don't think any users here appreciate the "boys club" that board 8 has become, so how can we bring our diversity numbers back up to quota?

The undertale match, which should have been our big chance, had our board flowing with women, but very very few stuck around. Maybe we could analyze why this was?

let's do some brainstorming here, board 8. Ideas off the top of my head

These first few require action from SBAllen, but I think we've reached the point where we all know SBAllen loves board 8 and will do anything we ask.

More frequent character contests on site for less prizes- Best Final Fantasy Character, Best Zelda Character, Best Animal Crossing character, these contests will bring our boards numbers up, and with that, keep the board 8 female count from flatlining.

Color Coded user boxes for gender- This could allow us to think twice before we insult a new user. Plus it would help with correct pronouning

Bring your spouse to Board 8 day-This is a terrible idea, I don't want more board 8ers to get divorced, but I thought I'd throw it out there. We could also make it bring your sister, or daughter? Although those have dark consequences too.

Anyway I'm going to open up the floor, hear some ideas from the other people on this board. Ladies of the board, what would inspire you and your kin to come here more often?

My sister isn't a gamer. And most of us don't have a daughter that's old enough to have a GameFAQs account.

I don't think there's any good ideas out there. Women are going to go where they want to go because this is a free world. I don't see this board's culture changing enough.

Because the loudest visitors decided that SALT and MEMES were more important than actually being part of a community. This place was an utter shitstorm during that contest, and it's more than understandable why most people(women or otherwise) wouldn't want to join the community after all of that.

Worst part is that we haven't gotten a contest since then because of that drama, which in turn is killing the site. I'm just glad I hid in a storm shelter for most of that >_>

You're actually probably right, with as many girls as we've had on these boards over the years I don't think we've ever gone above 20 active posting woman, and our numbers aren't too far from that now.

It absolutely would not. There is enough white knighting on unattainable celebrities and shit now. Imagine real women amongst you? Remember the mafia people white knighting a literal mentally unstable girl because she was a girl. That was enough for me.
