Yep; Mary Skelter continued Compile Heart's lack of quality. I knew it was bad within about five minutes and gave up. Which is sad, because it stole the "pink blood" motif too. Way to steal from something good to "attempt" to mask your dog shit writing. DR3 will feel like high art in comparison.

Though that's like outracing a horse that got shot in the leg. The sooner I send it back, the sooner I can join you guys in Despairland.

The premise "sounded" interesting. A sort of DRxCriminal Girls disgusting horror mess. Even dumbass harem/fanservice games like CG and Dungeon Travelers from NIS/Aksys/Spike Chunsoft ended up being way better than they had any right to be, so who knows. But I REALLY should have known seeing the Idea Factory/Compile Heart logos was a big "Do Not Play" sign on the boxart.

Didn't expect Rantaro to die with so many mysteries surrounding him but it makes sense in a Danganronpa game

Betting that Shuichi somehow managed to kill him without knowing it, he's got way too much screentime. Or maybe it was Kaede. Hope I'm wrong

Chapter 1

Was really hoping Shuichi was going to die for the whole trial there because he's such a piece of shit character. One of the main problems I had with the first two games was that they kept killing off the better characters and had a bunch of the worst ones survive to the end. It'll be extra disappointing if Shuichi survives the whole game (which I feel like he probably will).

Wasn't even *that* big of a twist. I suspected Gonta and Shuichi more than Kaede, but she was probably third on my list.

Also, is it just me or is it harder to aim the bullets in this game? I pretty much never missed my shots in the first two games, but I missed a whole ton of them here. The controls are little wonky in general. Really feels like it should be L1 for Concentration rather than R1.

Got through the end of case 3 with my day off yesterday:
I think the first victim of case 3 is the first time I've been relieved when a victim was revealed? That character was beginning to guide the plot in a direction I didn't like. Definitely a weak case after two strong ones; the actual motive really didn't work for me. Having an actual psychopath really goes against the strong points of the series' set-up. I don't want a killer who is treating the situation as business like usual.

chapter 1 is basically danganronpa in a nutshell: a weird mix of dumb/amazing that makes you feel only marginally satisfied

I feel the killing/body transportation method was way too easy to figure out with all the evidence about windows and ropes, and it was blatantly obvious that the murder was done at nighttime. When the characters spend 2 hours just to get to that point the trial seems to drag on a lot. It feels... very unsatisfying to slog through it when you can deduce a lot of details from so many hints during investigation.

Chapter 3

Oddly predictable? Seemed like Angie had to die there for the plot not to get derailed. And then I was thinking another person might die too, and Tenko seemed like the best fit. Her turning up dead after the seance was totally unsurprising. Kiyo was my first guess for the killer too. I figured he was so obvious that it wouldn't turn out to be him, but...it was. Oh well.

Most disappointing part: Kikuchi not being dead (though I figured he was faking it). Why does this character still exist.

I feel like Closing Arguments take longer here than previously? Man, they just go on forever.
