Ahh..... Finally about to settle down so that I can get some Danganronpa in.

Before I start, I just had this thought. I think Kibo will be the first victim. He's been pretty uninteresting so far. Maybe someone will try to justify that Kibo was never human to begin with.

Finally made it to the first free time slot. I think I'm aiming for the tennis pro and the childcare giver. Not gonna look up their names just because I forgot, because I don't want to accidentally chance upon spoilers.

So between seeing Monokuma get killed, to seeing him revive, to changing my mind and thinking that Shuichi's gonna die in the library, I suspect that there's more than 1 villain among us behind Monokuma and his gang. And that Shuichi's efforts will expose the (or one of the) lackey(s).

Why do you keep putting different paragraphs in different spoiler blocks? Makes it a little obnoxious to read your posts. Just use one spoiler bar for everything.

Having done 2 Ryoma's events successfully, I'm actually thinking of save scunming all free time events going forward. They say I can buy stuff from the school store in addition to the Monokuma slots, but there's not a single vending machine available.

I'm glad that Shuichi has thought of doing his surveillance remotely. That should reduce his chances of dying early. Miu however, might be in danger though.

Completed Chapter 3. (Chapter 3 Spoilers) I was sad to see Tenko go, since she was great. I was almost hoping for Angie's and Tenko's killers to be different people, since letting a killer stay around and trying to work with everyone else would have been interesting. I'm not sure if Monokuma's punishments are to be taken 100% literally, but it was interesting to see Kiyo's sister laughing it up and wanting his spirit to be destroyed. Which is kinda a harsh punishment now that I think about it, harsher than what what the other blackeneds usually get.

I guess this chapter shut down my sorta-theory that maybe Keebo wasn't a real robot. All the Resurrection stuff, if not just a lie from Monokuma, would make sense if they ARE in some kind of simulation and the deaths aren't real, because then whoever everyone picks to bring back can just be put back in.

The last half of the Chapter 4 trial saves it, but I would agree that 2 and 4 are lulls. 3 was decent I thought.

I have to say, I've been very impressed with the characters in V3 so far. Nagito is still the best character in any of the games, but V3 might have the best cast overall.

First off, completely off on the first one out. My guess was Shuichi or Miu.

But that doesn't mean Shuichi's in the clear yet. Because I've made it to the trial and he's now a suspect. Along with Gonta, they're the ones whom I think might have use the shot putt ball remotely. Gonta through the doors, Shuichi through the vents.

I just finished Chapter 4. Anyone who said that the second half of that trial was good is an asshole. You must either really hate Gonta or love Kokichi. Either way you're no friend of mine!!

Gonta is my precious little gentlemen son and I loathed Kokichi for what he did, because it was very effective. When it ended I said "fuck Kokichi" not "fuck chapter 4".

I think you may have misunderstood us saying the last half of the trial was "good" as us saying it was "a good time".

After so many days, finally finished chapter 1. I'm a bit annoyed at myself for being as rusty as I am at these whodunit games.

Losing Chiaki went a long way in mitigating the impact of the trial's conclusion. I also thought the series would have it in them to change protagonist mid-game some day. The double entendres completely flew over my head though, so well done there. I wonder if the impending ending is the cause why I couldn't get a single event out of Ryoma despite giving two good gifts?

Was definitely annoyed when my mid-trial save game loaded with only the text layer, they didn't even load the nameplate. Had to restart the trial from the beginning. Thank goodness for their superior fast forward function.

Prior to clearing chapter 1, I had a few theories, one of which involve there being 6 villains. And every chapter beaten means beating one despair-laden villain controlling one of the Monokubs. Guess that's out of the window now. Monodam seems to be suggesting that Monokid betrayed the other Kubs though so I wonder...

Here comes chapter 2. Why doesn't Rantaro have a photo for himself? And who are those unidentified people? The plot thickens. I hope I have enough time to clear Ryoma and Tojo though. Maki seems a bit touch and go.

Gameplay mechanics (spoiler just in case)

Love the new Hangman's Gambit. The sword fight is still annoying. Split opinion was fun as well. But what is this back route? I still don't understand. Is that suppose to give me a choice in terms of storyline branches?

I really hope there's no more logic dives in this game. Some of the tracks in DR2 were more trouble than fun.

Gameplay mechanics answer (involves Chapter 1 spoilers as an example)

Back routes are that there are two ways to progress some trial bits to get different scenes. For instance, in Chapter 1 you can have Shuichi try to lie to protect Kaede instead of follow her wishes and expose her, at least for a little bit.

Every trial except Chapter 1 has 2 back routes. Chapter 1 just has that 1.

How much do they diverge? Just for one testimony, or do they change the rest of the trial until the result?

They're barely different and change nothing in the long run. One of those things that's only worth doing yourself instead of looking it up if you're redoing a trial for monocoins or something.

It's for pretty much just the scene between each segment of the trial.

And yeah they're generally not that important.

(Mid Chapter 5 Spoilers) Well, that was an interesting turn of events! I'm really interested to see where things go now. But, wow, that is a shocking depressing and sad ending to the original Danganronpa characters. For everything Naegi tried to do, ultimately it didn't matter and the entire world was destroyed. Junko won super hard it seems.
