how is the president doing something unconstitutional necessarily equal to "more government," though?

Because pattern recognition? I don't intend to claim that every single case of unconstitutional action is an overreach, but I think that if you and I were to launch a historical analysis of unconstitutional actions, we'd find a lot more impact from overreach than from "underreach". And I'm certain that SmartMuffin believes that government overreach has been, not just impactful, but more damaging than government underreach ever could be. (Because if the government ever underreaches, then the free market magically solves everything, of course.)

Its just because Red Cross will only spend on this disaster what they were going to spend anyway and use the rest for more minor disasters they wont get as much fundrasing for.

If you care about 100% of your money going to communities then the answer is a local charity

Why is it that as Kelly forces the white nationalist contingent out of the White House, Trump himself is going hardcore white nationalist? Like is that his way of pushing back on attempts to rein the administration in?

I guess if Trump gives another Unhinged Tuesday Rant™ this week, Stephen Miller probably shouldn't make plans past Friday.

I think it's because recent events have forced him to comment on white nationalism, and when he goes off the cuff he reveals that, at the very least, he knows he should SAY it's bad but he doesn't really understand why.

And the Arpaio pardon was always going to happen. The timing made it a bad coincidence for him.

It's tough for me to know which reporting is gossip/speculation and what is real, but I've definitely heard reports that Trump likes to act contrary to his advisors at times to "show them who's in charge."

So it absolutely could be that.

It might also be that he wants to push back against the idea that these people are being removed because the administration (read: Trump) thinks they're wrong because it would imply that he was wrong in hiring them or something so he doubles down.

i dunno

I usually view what happens through the lens of either "whatever explanation seems stupidest is probably right" or "what would someone who believes in a parody of 'alpha' think is the move to make"

well it's a story for kids, not an instruction manual for first responders. The dead kid in the story isn't supposed to have learned a lesson, the dumb kid you're reading the story to is so he doesn't waste everyone's time by pretending there are wolves around.

Given unlimited resources, sure, but that's not feasible. You only have so much time and energy to investigate stuff.

I'm not sure how the allegory applies to our situation though.

1. The Hurricane tweets aren't something worth calling out
2. By 1, calling it out is crying wolf in that you're calling out something that is nothing and so people won't take you seriously when you call out something later that is something.

Whether you agree or not largely, but not entirely, depends on your position on 1.

Both Corrik and Extha have been "uhh this is not what I expected" at times. Besides Ulti, these are really the only two pro-Trump people I can really think of tbqh, though.

MWC doesn't count because he is not a real person. All the other conservative posters here are not what I would consider to be "pro Trump".
