Board 8 > Day 5: Every Board 8 member in the last UOTY contest vs 10 Samurai

Day 1: 12 Wolves barely beat 2 Tigers with 51.67% of the vote. (60 votes)
Day 2: 25 Giraffes smacked the crap out of 12 Wolves with 59.46% of the vote. (37 votes)
Day 3: 1 Elephant went all out Ganesh on 25 lanky Giraffes with 52.70% of the vote. (74 votes)
Day 4: 10 Samurai went all elephant soku zan on 1 poor elephant with 78.95% of the vote. (76 votes)

These battles take place in about a 2 acre sized dome. Completely flat terrain.

The Board 8 users only have their standard clothing and their own body to fight with.

The Samurai have no protective armor but they are all adept swordsmen with traditional Japanese Katanas.

Even if we have the vast numbers on our side, I doubt there are enough of us capable of putting up a fight to make it matter. Especially if the samurai choose to huddle in a ring with their backs to each other, I doubt there's really anything we could do to counter that.

If we were allowed to be armed, it would probably be a different story.

If we had weapons someone might get lucky and we could win. No weapons we get cut down.

Especially since most b8ers are probably out of shape it would make a suicide charge highly ineffective.

weapons at least would make things interesting. I was all set to discuss how many board 8ers own firearms or are trained in their use (I figure you can only bring a weapon you personally own, but if someone armed dies you can take his gun)

So it's around 200, huh? That's a pretty serious number advantage, but it's mostly untrained, unarmed combatants against trained combatants with deadly weapons. Ideally the B8ers could steal a sword or two and give them to whomever can best use it, but that seems like it'd require a lot of organization in the heat of battle. I'll withhold judgment this time.

I assumed ideal teammates voting against us. There simply aren't enough of us in good enough running shape to make a successful zerg rush.

You're talking about ten well trained samurai vs. a bunch of people, most of whom have no combat experience, in a life or death situation. You'd like to think everyone would just be completely fearless and work together well, but most of us will rightly be scared out of our wits. Plus, in a large arena like that, they can easily keep us disorganized and scattered enough to beat us. The big key is the fact that we have no weapons.

I mean, I highly doubt many of us can kill an armored samurai with... whatever nature we have around and our fists. And again, it requires unison. In a fight how many b8ers are willing to work together and how many would flee from the sight that they're probably gonna die? I doubt that many are seriously gonna count to make it 20 to 1.

Plus, we're not going to just be able to surround ten samurai at once and pummel them to death. We might be able to get a couple of them, but we're not going to get all of them. The other samurai can pick us off while we're trying to take out one of them, to boot.

There are two hundred of us. The other Samurai aren't going to be picking anybody off.

The strategy I'm talking about isn't so much a strategy as "look we need to fight these guys and a lot of us will die but this is how it is". We don't need a complex strategy, just a basic idea.
