When did omega and ibushi and devitt become bigger stars?

When they went up a weight class.

When they were juniors they didn't get as many wins against the top heavyweights and were less marketable.

The njpw junior scene is also showcasing a drastically different style than the heavyweight scene.


Again I said the main difference is in the presentation of the division. Since that's the how they'll be perceived. Njpw juniors aren't likely to win heavyweight titles, but they will offer something to look forward to in a way the wcw cruiserweight stuff was something different.

Dunno if you agree, maybe I'm the only one here who thinks that.

I can't remember the one in 2012, was it the tag titles?

Ones I DO remember though...

LonDrick winning and losing the World Tag titles at back to back house shows to Cade/Murdoch in 2007

Christian winning the IC belt from Booker T in 2003

Christian winning the European title from Bradshaw in 2001

Edge winning the IC belt from Jarrett in 1999

And of course the Hardcore title changes...

Since it was MSG, I'm guessing that was not the primary motivation. Just a special moment for their home arena crowd, in a building they love so much they only break even running it but still do anyway.

I don't know I care about a lot of the matches on this card but I think it's enhanced by the fact that I'm actually going to it like I'm super interested to see what they do with Enzo and Cass but I feel it hasn't had enough build time yet so it will probably be a no decision with Enzo winning by disqualification or something and the actual match will be at SummerSlam where big Cass will lay his big boot into him
