Game of Thrones

Other than the 3 just released games (TWD S3, Batman, GotG), I've now played every one of the "modern" Telltale games, and this is easily the worst of those.

I don't watch Game of Thrones, but the game did make me interested in looking into it, and because I didn't really care about the characters or lore, I found myself making choices I usually wouldn't in a Telltale game, which ended up being an interesting experience.

I wouldn't call it a bad game, and I don't regret playing it, but it's definitely not as good as any of the other Telltale stuff.

Project Rub/Feel the Magic (DS). It was....strange. It looks like the main character has a blue beard, but it turned out to actually be a helmet.

Fire Emblem 7

Finally I decided to beat this game legit and not use an emulator for savestates. Poor Pricilla had to sacrifice herself in the final battle, but the rest of the characters survived.

Watch Dogs 2

Initially, I was planning on talking about how I thought this was a good game, with a story and overall concept that I found interesting, but with gameplay that didn't click with me, until it did. I spent most of the game just trying to get through the story missions after doing most of the optional stuff as quickly as possible because I didn't find the core gameplay very fun, until I actually decided to utilize the hacking stuff during combat.

By the last few missions, I was running through buildings filled with enemies without getting hit at all or killing because of the hacking, and it greatly increased my enjoyment overall.

I also got every single optional trophy before doing any of the story stuff, which meant I got the platinum trophy right when I beat the game. It was an interesting way of doing things as I'm often ready to move on from a game after I finish the story, so I didn't have to grind through anything during the post-game.

FINALLY reached the ending of this without buying any Picrites with real $ and only using the daily training trick twice. It was a long road there - and there's still a lot to finish up, but it's nice to see this beaten.

Pretty good! It fits right in with the other Layton games in a lot of ways (gameplay structure, characters, art/music style, etc.), so if you like those you'll probably like LMJ too. Some more specific thoughts:

- The mobile version is definitely worth getting if you have a tablet; it plays pretty much the same as a 3DS game right down to the screen split, and $16 for a fully-featured ~20 hour game (plus daily puzzles) is a nice deal. (I haven't tried playing it on a phone, but I think the screen wouldn't be big enough for it to work well in that case.)

- The focus on individual cases instead of a larger plot is kind of a mixed bag. The cases themselves wrap up nicely enough (they're fairly short, but don't feel as abrupt as the travel segments from Azran Legacy at least), but it kinda feels like they spend a lot of time introducing and starting to develop the cast only to not really do anything with them. On the bright side, there isn't a dumb "let's explain the supernatural-seeming plot in a way that's way more complicated and harder to believe than the supernatural explanation" twist at the end this time! And there are a couple of obvious sequel hooks, so hopefully there'll be more games with Kat and co. in the future that can build on some of that development.

- The puzzles are a bit on the easier side overall, but that's probably not a bad thing for the first entry into a series reboot. One complaint I do have is that they go a bit overboard on the "trick question"-type puzzles--I'd be willing to bet that at least half of the times where you have to enter a number, the answer's going to be 0 or 1, lol.

Great, classic JRPG. I felt a lot of nostalgia for the original Final Fantasy while playing this. A lot of people seemed pretty down on the second half of the game, but I thought everything they did was pretty interesting. I didn't do much of the optional stuff during that second half, though, which might've been why I didn't get burnt out.

I also managed to nearly complete Norende despite having only a few people in my town because I slowly played the game over the course of my vacation the last two weeks.
