And it may be intentional if the writers end up following through with basically turning the Phantom Thieves into a corrupt group, but even if that's the case then the transition was really poorly handled imo.

You may not have remembered this, but the whole thing started when Makoto hacked Sae's computer and found out that Okumura was her number on suspect behind the shutdowns. Even if there'd been nothing on the Phansite saying that they should target Okumura and the public had been completely ignorant of him, they still would've made him their next target.

Haru and Futaba maxed. That leaves Gamer Dipshit at 5, with about 20 days to go. I spent most of my remaining money trying to do high level fusions (dumb at level 55) to get Satan, Sraosha, Futsunushi, and prepped for Yoshitsune. That and training for negligible HP and SP.

No I remembered that. My problem is that they investigated that, found no evidence whatsoever, but then pressed forward anyways because "maybe he's the guy" or something like that. It's just weird when prior to this point they've been so careful about making sure that their targets are people they really want to take down by doing investigations and having the unanimous agreement rule, etc.

I suppose if you think the stuff on Sae's laptop is already solid evidence then sure everything is fine, but my interpretation was that it was still only speculation.

Speaking of it I think the unanimous rule is kinda dumb because I don't think they literally do anything with it and if they ever didn't unanimously agree I certainly don't remember when.

Makoto and Morgana probably overrule everyone anyway. Ryuji just goes along with shit because he gets chances to slug people with nail bats. I mean, it's not a bad gig, but I wish he'd miss and concuss himself once in a while.

Speaking of Ryuji, why does he call the MC directly on occasion near the end of the game? No one else does. I get being a bro, but I don't know if it leads to anything. Ann needs character development too, but she doesn't call like that.

They might, but it would've been interesting if there were times they actually didn't agree and picked a different target or something. They basically agree to everything and counting Mementos a lot of the time it's based on rumors with almost no proof. It's always just "this person is bad cuz bad rumors are going around. Go get'em Phantom Thieves."

To be fair, just that person existing in Mementos/having a Palace kinda means that they're bad and worth targeting. Though I do wonder how the culprit targeted people who don't. Must be some other way of searching if you have a different motive or something.

I answered "The knowledgable type" and got messages from Makoto and Hifumi. I'm almost certain that who sends you messages in Hawaii depends on confidant rank.

Makoto and Hifumi don't need too much. I was able to get Makoto's date at Rank 5 my first playthrough and on second playthrough got Hifumi's message even though her rank wasn't that far either.

Ann and Kawakami require you to have gone the romance route with them at a bare minimum, and Kawakami might require you to be at max with her. Ann you could probably be at Rank 9 Romance.

Raise Proficiency through the Hanged Man Social Link, Crafting at your desk (at night), and the Beef Bowl Shop job, basically

Raise Guts through Death SL, Coffee at the Shibuya Diner, and the Big Bang Burger Challenge (You get +Guts even if you fail, or you've already completed the challenge)

Infiltration tools
Iwai (Gun Shop Owner) Confidant
Books
Movies

Also, five Reapers, 56 -> 81. All in an hour. This feels wrong...but I love it.

I ended up having Guts being the last one I raised to 5

Did you do those Big Bang Burger challenges? Those give you a boost in each category minus Kindness the first time I think.

Other main ways to raise proficiency I can think of

-Making tools
-Books
-Batting cages I think
-Airsoft shop confidant (but you need 4 guts to start that)
-Working at the BBQ

As for Guts I ended up getting it from doing Big Bang Burger challenge once you have 4 in everything (minus Kindness) along with books. Gives 3 each time for it

I am currently level 92 (which only took about 10 Reapers). I wonder if I can get myself to 99 today without going stir crazy. I'm thinking about scouring the compendium too later on. I'm at 81% or so. With no experience to deal with, it's just money money money.

I killed a Reaper legit a few hours ago. I mean, I WAS level 92, I had charged Hassou Tobi and Burning Hell, and I didn't even use Ryuji. I am curious to see how much I stomp him if I do.

I beat him at level 72 with Ann,Haru and Makoto.As long as you have tetraja he's a cake walk.Probably best to have Yoshi as well just to stop the fight dragging out.

The weird mechanic he has where he only hits once per turn on an ambush is helpful. Until near the end, he kept using break skills. By the time he got around to using instant death stuff, Futaba still had her full party guard.

95 seems to be where the Reaper leveling stops working efficently. I mean, level 99 is hardly much different, unless my HP and SP suddenly go to 999 because of it (I think Persona 4 did that). I ran out of money at 94% Compendium, so I'm back doing 7th Palace shit. Thankfully, all those levels means I get instant kills in every fight. I can always get more money later with those same monsters in Mementos.

Oh, and you cannot sell Divine Pillars. Not sure why, but whatever.

Start of 6th Palace spoilers:

Oh man, that whole sequence since the 5th palace ended has been pretty great. Also, from what I remember around when everyone else was finishing I think people were complaining about Akechi in this game? I don't really see why--I thought he's been fantastic. Oh well, I guess he'll just turn out to be this Persona's character where no one else likes them even though they ended up as one of my favorites. (P4's was Teddie, and P3's is I guess the Strega members?) Also, my friend and I both had Akechi pegged as a "big bad" in this game for most of the time, so it's actually looking like that might not be the case now?

HA. Just kidding. I know a bait-and-switch when I see one. No way is Ol' Baldie actually going to be the final boss of this game.

Admittedly they may still go the Morgana/Shadow Morgana route (and if you forced me to choose I'd probably say this is most likely now) or something else entirely, but I'm hoping for Akechi at least
