As a random thought, it's weird to see that people maxed out strength before the 6th palace. Dont you have to be in the late 40s/early 50s to do finish it?

Some people think Akechi is lame because he's a bit like a certain antagonist in a previous game, but not as good. Well that and his entire character being extremely predictable that there's nothing going for him.

I happened to be around level 50 before the 6th palace so I only had to grind a tiny bit to get level 10's persona done. Mementos missions are great for leveling up.

Palace 5 seems cool so far though. I can't imagine how long it would take without these invig 3s since it's still kinda difficult to maintain SP with them.

I didn't like Haru's dopey and dense personality when she's with Morgana at first.Glad they abandon that as soon as you get her in your team though.I ended up really warming to her.Plus i like how her boob bounces in that bikini when she does a knockdown attack after a Joker move.

Yusuke seems to be well-liked by the fanbase and I'm not sure why. He's easily the most one-note party member in the entire franchise. ART ART ART got old really fast.

Probably because as soon as it's patched up Ryuji immediately calls Morgana useless again as if he didn't learn a damn thing and he gets called a douche for it >_>

I thought that outside of a few instances his humor completely fell flat. Especially his introductory stuff, that was extremely creepy and weird.

Yusuke has had the best Awakening scene and the best party member social link, so yeah. That's why I like him.

You might be alone in that Awakening scene comment. Almost everybody I know and have seen talking about the game online think Makoto's was best by a landslide

Haru is great in a subdued sort of way. Her backstory is weaved mostly into the 5th Palace, her Social Link and even stuff in the 7th Palace. She's like Yusuke, but disliked due to being humorless outside of one scene. I mean, Yusuke's whole appeal is the weirdness he gets into. Teddie level weirdness without the abject stupidity that is Teddie.

Basically, split Mitsuru into two people. Haru got the money, manners, and prestige. Makoto got the special motorcycle, intelligence, and "give no fucks" intimidation factor. It's obvious why Haru would feel shortchanged.

I guess most of the others there's some kind of personal hatred or other emotion at play, but Makoto's didn't feel the same. Like she is pissed off because someone is doing evil things, but she hasn't herself been wronged by Kaneshiro, which takes a lot of the edge out of it for me. (Yes, I know Kaneshiro threatened her and whatnot, but I interpret that differently because Makoto was the one who initiated the conflict with Kaneshiro when that happened)

Admittedly I did forget about Futaba's when I made the above comment, so I'll revise that to say Futaba's was the best. Or more accurately I forgot which scene was the one where she had her awakening.

Yeah and that kind of humor sucks. It also wasn't really cringe-based, just creepy as hell. Trying to blackmailing a girl into getting naked is kind of fucked up.

His Awakening is good but literally all of the Awakenings are good so that's not anything special.

Also thought his S. Link wasn't anything special outside of the church scene. Everyone except Makoto had a better party member S. Link.

I always figured that Haru isn't very popular because she gets comparitavely little screentime. She's barely in the game at all. Persona 4 had this issue with Naoto as well, but Naoto was in the story before that so it was pulled off much better.

So you're forgetting all the buildup of being railroaded/bullied/guilt tripped into being a "good student" by Sae and the Principal's Phantom Thieves mess taking a toll on her? That's a huge reason it works so well.

It probably has to do with Makoto summoning a badass motorcycle, breaking the ground with her feet and blowing a hole in a wall. Everything else before and after for awakenings feels like taking a nap after something like that.

Shinya and Mishima might disagree with that statement. Nozomi level garbage. Ann is just dumb, since the Social Link is about her friend...which makes me wonder why we aren't confiding in her instead.

Mishima has a very good Social Link. It's some of the most natural character development in the game and it involves the only case in the game of a person being able to change their own heart who isn't Sae.

That's what people say but there's like 40 hours left to the game when you get her. Maybe 30 if I'm going especially faster than everyone else. That's still a lot.

Here's the thing about Akechi (Speculation/Spilers) I believe he will be the "traitor" talked about. Not only does he become a party member late but does so for the palace where you get caught. Not to mention his S Link is automatic which is different than the other party members. Kinda like the Adachi problem where since Adachi didn't have an SLink in the original version of 4 he stood out more.

How do they have nothing to do with the scene? That's like saying, Makoto hacking Sae's computer or that Sae has a freaking Palace has no emotional context because they are sisters...when that's the whole reason the plan IS crazy.

Separate scenes have emotional weight due to callbacks and character relationships. Makoto is the best character because of the connection to (as far as the story frames) a major antagonist. They leverage a lot onto that, and only Futaba comes close to getting as much focus.

For the record I never said Makoto was a bad character--only that her awakening scene wasn't great. Makoto is almost definitely in my top 3-5 characters for the game. (Haven't thought through a list beyond Futaba #1)

To answer the question, what I mean is that (3rd palace spoilers) the events with Sae and the principal don't directly affect the relationship between Makoto and Kaneshiro. Sure, you can correctly say that there's an indirect change since his actions are what caused Makoto to be in this situation, but there's still nothing that Kaneshiro has directly done to Makoto herself. In other words it's not personal, and it's that exact aspect that made many of the other awakenings so compelling for me (Yusuke/Ryuji/Ann).
