Well, Booker may be HALF right there.

I would say that if we're supposed to believe these fights are real, it IS ADR's fault that he GOT a concussion. BUT, that doesn't necessarily mean that he should "man up" and keep competing even though he has one.

FCW - June 24, 2012

So our commentary team is William Regal, Byron Saxton, and special guest ANTONIO CESARO! Regal isn't really talking though for some reason.

Our first match is Alexander Rusev & Colin Cassady vs The Ascension! Good god, why is Colin Cassady still employed? ...Damn, he is. Anyway, Kenneth Cameron is awesome and screaming in Colin's face. Oh dear god, all of the Ascension screaming. So much. Cameron literally chops Conor in order to tag him in. Soooo awesome. And... man, Alexander Rusev takes the pin after a Jawbreaker from Cameron into a Flapjack by Conor O'Brien. Holy crap. Ascension so good.

Next up is Garret Dylan (w/ James Bronson) vs Kassius Ohno. Good lord, Garret Dylan is terrible. He does that idiotic special person noise constantly like "DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Yeah, I still don't like Kassius Ohno. He's incredibly hit or miss in the ring, and he's only good against opponents better than him. Antonio Cesaro is not good at commentary, btw. There's a really awkward spot where Ohno knocks Dylan to the outside, then he does a somersault towards the rope, followed by a backflip to the outside after Dylan was well out of the way. ...Uh, okay. Anyway, Ohno wins with his neckbreaker set-up to spin around and elbow thing. They call it the Ohno Blade. ...Yeah, that's the match.

And now we have Benecio Salazar vs Erick Rowan. Well, this is Benecio Salazar's last match in FCW. It's amusing that they tried to make him more gangster like Hunico. lol They had him ditch the mask and everything. And, of course, Erick Rowan still sucks, but he's back from injury. And he wins in two moves. Yes, he's so impressive that he beat Benecio by kicking him and nailing a chokeslam. I am thrilled to see this man in action.

Next up is Seth Rollins (c) vs Dean Ambrose for the Florida Heavyweight Championship! They gave both of these guys new theme songs for some reason. Their old ones were really good! These two are really great and both have a stare down. And, uh... halfway through the match, Dean Ambrose dislocates his shoulder and proceeds to slam it against the ring apron repeatedly to pop it back in place. This man is like the most badass man. Basically, this match is awesome and seriously amazing from both guys. Seth Rollins wins after a second Curb Stomp. Awesoooooome. I highly recommend it!

Not knowing who will win is only a minor factor in my match anticipation.

I really thought the dumbass rules in the Cole/O'Reilly match would bog it down and turn it into a clunky piece of crap.

i'm not very well versed on what the rules were

all i know is that the match could only end on KO or submission, which was what made me so excited for it

people are turning on davey and the strong style fighting spirit stuff, but i still really enjoy seeing two guys superkick the **** out of each other

They had a bunch of rules about Minor Fouls and Flagrant Fouls and such where accumulating 3 minor fouls or 1 flagrant foul was an automatic DQ (minor fouls were stuff like using the ropes for assistance or stepping outside the ring or an accidental eye poke, etc.)

In the end the only minor foul committed at all was Cole going outside the ring to get O'Reilly after he superkicked him out, and it didn't affect the match at all.

Even if you weighed the titles equally, I think Punk probably beats Roode by a little bit, mainly given the circumstances surrounding the "Summer of Punk" and the quality of competition.

yeah, by a kayfabe standpoint i can't help but put Punk as 1 period right now and WWE's making it a point to remind us of that. sheamus also would be pretty high but it's been the past 6 months over the past year. still, i could see him in the top 10. cena/show are also guys up there. henry is... i'm not sure.

What does help Roode some is that during the "Summer of Punk" Roode was still going out there as a singles guy and winning the BFG Series.

And for the first month and a half of the grading period he was Tag Champ with Storm still too. <_<

i didn't think they ranked ROH titles so highly? i mean i agree that Davey's reign with the belt has been pretty great and dominant with him proving that he's one of the best in there (both in real life and in kayfabe), but still. i'd love to see Aries and Davey side by side that high.

So yeah I suppose they do rank the top puro titles higher than ROH. Puro guys have gotten as high as #2 (Misawa in '97).

So taking that into consideration, I can definitely see Sheamus as #4 over Davey. Sheamus was dominant during the period even when he WASN'T Champ, plus he won the Rumble.

damn that jinder for padding sheamus up.
it also helps that WWE has done a lot to add weight to BOTH belts. stuff like punk/dragon having ties over and over and being on fairly equal footing, jericho as a no. 1 contender beating the other belt holder via interference, etc. stuff like that has really made it seem like neither belt has a better guy on it, but that they're even. wwe put a focus on that and i'm glad they did to prevent it from seeming weaker.

Okay so I'm gonna back off my Aries prediction too.

Except in 1997 when they went with Malenko #1 as an experiment, and in 2002 when RVD got #1 by demolishing the midcard when the WWE main event scene was in constant flux and no competition existed (literally it hit the perfect timeframe between the death of WCW and birth of TNA), no one has sniffed that close to #1 without at least holding the top title in their company.

Here are my revised predictions for the Top Nine Wrestlers from American feds. History shows that there's always at least one Japanese guy (or Mexican in the case of Mistico) somewhere in the Top Ten (but no more than two!), so I'm leaving that spot open for people with more knowledge of that subject than me.

#1: CM Punk
Most days as a World Champ, most relevant wrestler of the last year, defended the title at Wrestlemania

#2: Bobby Roode
Longest World Title reign of the year, won BFG Series, Main Evented BFG

#3: Sheamus
Won World Title at Wrestlemania, won Royal Rumble, Can count losses on one hand

#4: Daniel Bryan
Won MitB Briefcase, Lengthy reign as Champion, poor first half of period

#5: Austin Aries
Longest X-Division Champion ever, status grew continuously throughout period, Can count losses on one hand

well, realistically there's gonna be a couple japanese guys in there so we won't know.

but for the WWE/TNA/ROH batch, not bad. i would however expect Davey in the 6th position there. even though dragon's first half was 'weak,' it was a weak but establishing himself sort of deal. the first quarter was bad but thereafter it became quite good. still, his biggest issue is the whole '18 seconds' crap. from your order i'd bump him down to just 1 ahead of Henry as even though he managed to recover from it very, very well (and in a bigger way than anyone expected to the point where he may even win at MITB!), it's still something that hurts him. i'm also not sure i'd have kurt angle so high because even though he did have his reign and tag belt, he was very much so MIA for a while due to the whole GOING TO OLYMPICS idea that got abandoned.

aries > davey > dragon, from a kayfabe point of view, i think makes sense.
