From: SmartMuffin | #148 Jak, how about a list of the Top 10 "famous wrestler debut matches" of all time.
Somewhat tough to quantify given that wrestlers hop from fed to fed but here we go:
Just throwing 10 out there in no true particular order 1.) Undertaker, SvS '90 2.) Rock, SvS '96 3.) Cena, SD '02 4.) Goldberg, Nitro '97 5.) Vince, Rumble '99 (HE WON THE RUMBLE) 6.) Giant, Halloween Havoc '95 (more like infamous) 7.) Bryan, NXT '10 8.) Angle, SvS '99 9.) Edge, Raw '98 (more like infamous) 10.) Christian, Judgment Day IYH (he won a title!)

I was basically just parsing lists of World Champions and seeing if I actually remembered their debut match (or at least their debut matches for the company they made their name in).

I want you to analyze which matches were technically superior. This could be totally independent of the level of achievement the person ended up reaching.

Well I do want famous wrestlers. Like, don't give me some ROH guy, but the rankings criteria should be based on quality of match, not level of fame of the participant.

Since when did they give Layla TIffany's old theme?
I dont like it. Give her YOUR NOT ENOUGH FOR ME back.
I remember when Layla returned and I felt like "You're Not Enough For Me" was too heel-ish, considering it was the Laycool theme for so long, and that a new theme might suit her.
But this... this is not what I had in mind. Also, the lyrics aren't sending a positive message to the kiddies!
alright so watching NXT for the first time, only 2 eps in this season i think? saw both.
Tyler's entrance is so bad. he's still lookin' every bit like when he left ROH and he looks pretty damn good in the ring still. talent out the ass and it shows. ...but his hair color, style, and the demeanor he's after is reminding me a lot of face punk in early ROH. not nearly as good on the mic, but still, he's got a clear image going for him i think. steamboat also looks pretty good in the ring. also seeing Antonio absolutely murder this Dante guy who i assume is a random jobber with size was awesome. big guy gettin' thrown around like nothing. speaking of big guys, REAL LOVE. lookin' forward to seeing Wyatt/Harris. dude wasn't at all bad, now he might be good. he certainly is on the mic. Kid/Perfect Jr. was awesome. like, Kid didn't suicide dive despite what JR said, he did a suicide clothesline.
not that impressed with Leo. sounds like he can talk, but don't particularly care for him in the ring. this is also a problem Sandow has and i'm not liking this transition.
The Ascension or however that's spelled meanwhile has an AWESOME opening. man, how did they get something like that. this is also ridiculously over the top.
bo dallas can't talk for the life in him. he's ridiculously young and has a huge upside as a result, but damn. not sure what to think of him in the ring really. he... didn't impress me at all.
now, last question here: why is everyone wearing tyler black hair.

They could be AWESOME in the tag division right now. It was even more badass when they had Epico and Daughter Guerrero with them as well. I feel like they could be a f***ing awesome dark stable if they brought in more people.
We could use some more supernatural in our WWE, I think.

God yes. I don't get how you can make a PG wrestling show and not have ridiculous crap on it. If anything's wrong with the product right now it's that. PG and Realism never really gelled well together-- how many realistic PG movies out there are actually good. I'm sure some exist but I can't think of any right now. All the good movies I can think of are totally out there or PG-13+
-- No problem! This is a cute and pop genocide of love!
So I'm catching up on RoH and is it just me or has RoH stupidly decided to follow WWE's lead in not calling its roster "wrestlers". Only RoH is using Athletes instead of superstars.

My complaint about the PG rating is similar to my complaint about brand-sep. It represents an arbitrary restriction. A limiting of options. The show could be rated TV-MA and still contain 99% PG content, it would just give them the freedom to do something more "adult" every once in awhile, IF doing so would really help that particular angle.

Right. I assume like the movie ratings, you're allowed a little bit of leeway. Like, aren't you allowed to say f*** three times in a PG-13 movie, but once you reach four, it has to be rated R? I assume it's the same way with TV.

a dark power stable? i can dig it. it just feels so... weird because i'm getting less horror vibe and more uh.... inception vibe i guess?
not sure how to describe that. but i don't get the whole 'YOU SHOULD FEAR THIS GROUP" as much as "this group may or may not mind **** you. also i guess they're evil but have some really boss music."

The thing is, the WWE doesn't push the boundary at all. They could be doing a bit more risque stuff and still be a PG product, yet they don't even try to.
Is there any sort of restriction on live performances?
Like, I know over the past year or so, they've had a few words that had to be censored, but presumably, the live audience still heard them. Doesn't that hurt their family-friendly image?

Well it doesn't change the broadcast rating as long as they're censored, so there would be no hard and fast restriction, but WWE likes to maintain as close to constant PG as they can get so that they can sell the entire product as PG.
Has anyone dropped anything worse than an "ass" though?

From: Jakyl25 | #133 The only reason I'm gonna let you guys win this vote without a fight is because Heat lasted 10 years and ECW didn't even make it to 4. I still disagree, but not so vehemently that I want to die on this hill.
So then we have Raw SD Championship Wrestling Superstars (original) Heat
NOW can we put ECW at #6, or am I gonna have to win a fight against Shotgun Saturday Night?
Uhhhhh.
I know this conversation is long over but what about the 1985-1992 version of Saturday Night's Main Event?
I would argue it is more relevant than even Smackdown, given how much more popular that era was.
