Meh D2's death penalty was negligible unless you died like 10 times. You hardly lost any exp unless you were like level 90 and who cares about gold. Getting the corpse was only a mild annoyance.

I don't think anyone should be playing the Diablo series on non HC if they want death to mean something

Deaths were pretty brutal at the high levels of D2. One death could set you back like, several cow runs worth of exp.

If you got the corpse you got a lot of the exp back. It wasn't really bad at all unless as I said you died a ton.

I mean once you hit 85+ the exp rate crawls so much that yeah it matters there, but still not a big deal. By the time you've reached that level your chance of death has also gone way down so.

Just went from level 58-59 in about an hour farming the first boss in Act IV. It takes about two minutes per run and it's really easy. I wouldn't recommend doing it from 59-60, though. It gets tedious.

Wizard seems to be good for it so far, many crowd control abilities, escape abilities, ways to defend yourself with many armors, etc.

Probably because it takes like 30 baal runs at that point to level each level, it'd take like 5 away.

For whatever it's worth I beat normal solo with only one death as a demon hunter. If I had been playing hardcore, I would have been gearing for survival and might have survived that as well.

The further I get into Nightmare, the more Smokescreen is becoming more important. I don't know how you can play Demon Hunter at these higher levels and not use it, and apparently I'm not the only one as people are trying to figure out Hell/Inferno builds that DON'T use it. I'm interested in, Aga I think it was, I believe he's a high level Demon Hunter who said he didn't use it so I was wondering what build he had that had no smokescreen.

Long story short: no modern system should give a rat's ass what your password actually is.* With salting, anything but the absolute worst passwords are strong.

*(The password should be non-trivial--anything more than about 5 characters is probably fine really--and not easily socially engineered)

I believe I have broken Demon Hunter, and it is with Smoke Screen. My skill bar:

Smoke Screen (Lingering Fog)
Vault (Acrobatics)
Rain of Vengeance (Stampede)
Preparation (Focused Mind)
Hungering Arrow (Puncturing Arrow) -- I think Bolas Shot (Bitter Pill) is better here, but I suck at using bolas.
Multishot (Suppression Fire)

Archery (Hand Crossbow), Night Stalker, Perfectionist.

The gap where you can get killed is pretty small if executed properly. Vault/Rain are in there because they're free. Feel free to swap them out for other utility.

I've been switching my skills around quite a bit.

What I used to get up to Act IV of Hell was one built around staying alive, need a lot of Vit for this to be viable. I had around 1,400 when I was using this.

While standing near the sentry+attacking would regain ~1.5k a second. And if you end up in trouble use Shadow Power to regain more life+raise defense for a short time.

Sadly at the beginning of IV it started getting absolutely destroyed, trying to come up with a new build. Probably going to focus on murdering instead of staying alive.

Sounds like there is a way to replicate someones session info and get into their account, current idea is that it happens though public games and they can only get into the character that was active when you logged out.

I've played with two people from B8, that's it, but not with the character that got hacked. The characters I DID play are absolutely fine. I haven't done anything stupid, haven't gone to any suspicious websites or given out my login ID.

Changed my password, probably getting an authenticator, put in a support ticket.
